Nice, clean property in a good location. Staff was friendly and attentive.

I had a wonderful time! Beautiful place,quiet, great for family and solo travel.

Our stay was in an older, 2-storey motel-type building surrounded by villas. All suites in our building faced the ocean, and the beach boardwalk was a few steps away. Our suite had a kitchenette and was large with stunning, direct views of the ocean and nearby rocks from the large balcony. Enjoyed it immensely.

Difficult to find as it is in Alvor, not Portimao proper, and there are numerous Pestana facilities in the vicinity. The grounds are under construction and parts of the complex are a bit run down.

The oceanfront location is the saving grace for this resort. It is old and neglected. Beds are horrifically hard and torturous to sleep on. Staff are friendly but that doesn’t make up for facilities neglect and lack of cleanliness. Luckily they are on a a fabulous beach.

Family holiday for 5 days. Villa was an apartment in a 2-storey block, ocean views, <100m from the ocean even less to the beach). Quiet without being silent, other kids around too for ours to see and play with, other families and couples enjoying their time. Great base for exploring Alvor. Some parts of the complex a little bit more tired than others, but we felt that lent more character!

Highly recommend the Pestana Beach Villas. Staff were so friendly also. Great location.

Fijne accommodatie

Feb 2024 Fijne accommodatie aan het strand. Kamers 8102-8104 prachtig uitzicht over zee, 1e verdieping. Goed uitgeruste keuken, 2 kookplaten, koffiemachine, waterkoker, handdoek, sponsje, afwasmiddel voor 1e dagen. Goede bedden. Elke dag schoonmaak en handdoekenwissel. Genoeg parkeerplaatsen. Koud zoutwaterzwembad. Ik hou ervan. Wandelmogelijkheden op de boardwalk. Gebruik van alle faciliteiten van Dom João II, zwembad, spa, fitness, bar. Hier ook inchecken! Wel gehorig als je luidruchtige buren hebt. Zal zeker terugkeren.

Room was big

Wir haben in den Superior Villas gewohnt. Sie waren sehr sauber und alles hat funktioniert. Das Personal wwar sehr nett und freundlich.

Our room had nothing to do with the photos we saw. Very run down and old rooms, we had a separate villa but everything was sticky etc. Staff in the hotel was not very friendly and seemed way too much overworked. Run down place. Great location but hotel needs urgent investment.

Was a very basic villa clean but needs upgrading no washing machine and no cooker

My wife and I stayed at this facility November 2-7. We were booked and paid through the 9th. We left two days early - our first time ever doing this in 50+ years of travel worldwide.

This campus is in two parts; the high rise main hotel building, which appeared to be excellent and who’s staff were really very good and professional. The other part is the two-story villas. Both parts seem to date from the 1970s/80s and, despite efforts, are showing their age. But two ‘thumbs up’ for the main building and service there.

The setting, beside the sea and between Alvor and Portimao is excellent. I understand there’s a golf course. That’s all good.

HOWEVER...our experience in the villas was a disaster. We arrived as booked and were advised our room/villa was not ready/available. After a wait of several hours we were sent to a nice newly refurbished villa. Only problem was the toilets stunk - sewer gases escaping into the rooms via bad in-floor plumbing and seals. It was bad.

Next day we were moved to another villa who’s toilets stunk even worse. Nothing could be done to fix this (old building, old plumbing, extremely poor maintenance...someone needs firing), so the next day we were moved again. Third building - same problem - horribly stinking toilets due to sewer gases escaping the plumbing.

We communicated this to the front desk, but nothing could be done. On the 7th we gave up and left, two days early.

We are amazed that this condition is allowed to exist.

Bra familjehotell vid fin strand

The open space and well kept exterior were nice. Location was exceptional. We considered that this property had excellent value.

Uitstekende ligging vlakbij het strand waardoor je o.a. wordt uitgenodigd om te gaan wandelen. De Villa's zelf zijn prima geoutilleerd, vrijwel alle noodzakelijke zaken zijn aanwezig en alles wordt uitstekend schoongehouden, kortom een warme aanrader!!
