Very small corridor snd don’t feel the good the atmosphere .
Room were interesting, the top floor suites were large with great views.
Location of property is in a hotspot for thefts, car was broken into and there was no urgency from the staff to assist. Despite having a car park with CCTV this was not offered on arrival and the same car was broken into a 2nd time overnight. Closest secure parking costs over £25 to park for the evening. In the rooms the TV did not work properly, the balcony door was constantly swinging open. Needs some TLC on maintenance.
Very helpful staff.
The whole building is like a furnace despite normal weather.
The a/c in the room was inoperable.
Only one small window didn't let in any air.
Impossible.
It was somewhere secure to sleep at night, and commute to the Download Festival during the day. There was a nini fridge, and there is a tesco nearby so buying actual milk was easy enough.
They tried to charge us a 50£ room deposit when we arrived (I had already paid for the room). We said we would need to take pictures of the room then and he suddenly said oh nevermind, you dont need to pay the deposit. Really odd vibe! Our room had a smashed window. We moved the bed because it was weirdly pushed right up against the window, only to find a condom wrapper and tab butt. There was a flickering lightbulb. The staff did send someone up to hoover when we complained. There was no servicing whatsoever (no replacement towels, ONE half roll toilet paper). Breakfast was order in advance (so decide what you want immediately for the duration of the trip). We expected more than ONE slice of bacon when we selected bacon 🤣. Other than cooked options there was serve your own toast, little packets of cereal, or packaged muffins. They ONLY offered long life milk- even for cereal. Lots of random grimy bits on the door/ walls - needs a really good clean. We definitely will not be back.

In a fairly central area with good public transport access. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
First hotel I've stayed in that i would never return to. Hotel had clear maintenance and cleaning issues. Returned to my room at around 1am to find a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom causing me to have to change rooms. The new room also had what looked like a damp mark on the ceiling so concerned this could be a more widespread issue. There were also some concerning cleanliness issues. The cups in the room had clearly not been cleaned, found a red stain on one of the towels, concerning looking stains on one side of the bed sheets and half a condom wrapper at the side of the bed. Not sure I've even listed everything. Will definitely not be back.
Nice size room, comfortable bed, microwave which was handy, sink area and kettle to
Beautiful building an extremely good way to keep a complete contrast of features of an old building. Friendly girl at reception and tried her hardiest to rectify the issues we had.The full English breakfast was a nine out of ten. Only let down - I would have liked my bacon a little more cooked.
Extremely small toilet and shower room. Sad that owners have not kept a high standard. The public toilet , near the front reception area was dirty, loose toilet seat .in our room, obviously a rail had been pulled and not replaced. The carpet leading to our room had black masking tape around it . Attention to detail is required. Crazy provide - I. E. Iron board , no iron…. One glass , had to ask for another. Armchair had a broken leg and my husband tumbled from it. First bedroom we were allocated, television did not work and was in a static position, whereby, could not chill in bed and watch it. Second bedroom, television worked , in a fashion!!!!!! Kept flickering and all programmes had a narrative of what was being said. Could not rectify that situation.
.
The bed was comfortable
The room, the creaky stairs, the unlocked balcony door, the TV not working, the weak WiFi and the breakfast!
Staff charged extra for parking and even more as it was a van and not at all friendly in how spoken too
Down side of bed not vacuumed in along time not sure if bed sheets were changed lots of black hairs. Not enough tea bags
My advice, manage your expectations and ask for what you want/need.
I needed a last minute cheap hotel room and this fitted the bill.
I paid just over £50 for the room for the night whereas everywhere else was over £100 unless you take an airb&b room in someone’s house which as a solo traveller I wasn’t comfortable with.
I managed to park for free down the street past the hotel. Had to call on arrival to check in as desk was unmanned but wasn’t a problem. Rooms have a handy kitchenette for those needing that.
Experienced two rooms as the audio on the tv wasn’t working in the first and I wanted to watch the football. First rooms bed was way too soft. Second rooms bed was firm.
It has clearly been done on the cheap and there is a lack of attention to detail. The shower room floor looked like something had been spilt on it in the first room, the second rooms en suite toothbrush holder needed cleaning. Bedside lights were missing from the second room and terrestrial tv not available (wanted itv for football ended up watching on iPad via guest WiFi which was fine).
The receptionist was very helpful and tried her best to address the issues which I appreciated.
I guess you get what you pay for.
