The location is good, the staff are friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was very nice. The car park is very inconvenient being two blocks away. The most unsatisfactory thing was our room, which was very poor. There was not space for one person to walk past another, nowhere to put suitcases, no bedside lights, and the shower was small ugly and badly constructed. It may be their other rooms are much nicer, but do not accept no. 12. In addition, it is noisy, from traffic outside and people talking in the rooms below.
One of the best hotels I had during my whole Chile trip.
The room was small but very nice and clean and although facing the street it wasn't too loud.
The staff is extremly helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very good. W-fi works just fine.
The hotel is close to all the points of interest and is in a nice building with amazing interior.
Would like to stay there again.
The location and price of this hotel is very good. The breakfast is ok and for the price, really can't complain. The hotel staff is outstanding and therefore was the best part of our stay. The room is very clean and offers just the basic amenities.
Good location. Friendly staff. No English spoken except for the owner’s son. Ancud is an interesting port town. Good way to get immersed in Chilean culture. Fish markets, lots of knitted articles very cheap...$3-4 for wool sticking caps. Other touristy souvenirs, handcrafted jewelry etc. The staff was very helpful. Old building on a busy Ancud St. free parking about 2 blocks away. Minimal breakfast of a dessert and buns, jelly, 2 very small slices of ham and cheese, juice and instant coffee. All this for $47/night. I would recommend Hotel Balai to a friend...based on their own expectations.
