Great
Very clean and comfortable room. Loved the mid-century modern decor! Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Love the charm of this hotel. It's perfect location, great bar, great rooms, and cute little gift shop make this hotel the place to stay. Highly recommend!
We took our dog with us nd the place was great. Our room was spacious and clean. There was a birthday being celebrated in the pool so we couldn't get in but it was fine. They had a movie playing and a cool fire pit going. The room didnt come with a microwave but the front desk had one delivered to us. That was nice! Staff was super friendly!
Beautiful property! Beds were so comfy! Always appreciate a bathrobe in the room. Will definitely only stay here when we visit Nac
Teh Fredonia does a lot of things right, the rooms are clean and well appointed, bed and linens are very good and the staff tries hard to be gracious, great location. Where it fails is the internet which reminded me of dial-up service, it was super slow when it worked at all and it kept dropping out, worst ever. The cafe, 1st City, also tries and does somethings well, like crab eggs benedict but then ruins it by serving frozen home fries that are tasteless.
It was a nice hotel. Definitely trying to be upscale. The cafe was nice and had good food and service. Staff was friendly. Inside main building looked nice. Only two issues we ran into, but they were major to us. We were exiled to the far side of the property to unattached motel section. Even though we booked early. This made us enjoying amenities offered by the hotel challenging. Also, not enough parking. There was a wedding Saturday night when we were there and made an already bad parking situation worse. Those two issues made what we paid not worth the value we received. We could have stayed at a cheaper hotel/motel option for what we experienced.
Room was excellent. Young lady at the front desk was super nice.
Stayed two nights at the Fredonia that bills itself as a luxury hotel. It was the most disappointed I've ever been in a hotel room. They charged my $470 for two nights in a room smaller than my closet. The sheets and towels reeked of chemical disinfectant that gave me a headache, the lobby is done beautifully in mid-century modern but my room was decorated like the blandest La Quinta room you've ever seen- nasty looking carpet and barely any color except some cheap looking picture on the wall. Would never suggest you waste your money staying there- awful!
Great restaurants/bar and pool areas👍👍
We will be back next year
I was not made aware that the terrace option room was on a new built section that is right in front of the back door the ball room and the noise was unbearable. They couldn’t move us to a different room since they were overbooked. Kinda outdated. The restaurant had great service, specially after a rough night with the event at the ball room
Excellent staff and service. Convenient location
Pool was dirty
We stayed overnight at the Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches, TX (the oldest town in Texas). While the property itself is beautiful, our experience was extremely disappointing.
We arrived close to 10PM to find that one of our reserved rooms was not yet clean. The staff apologized and gave us breakfast vouchers, which was appreciated. However, shortly after, we were told there was another issue with the room and that we were being “upgraded”...but only if we agreed to pay more. After questioning this several times, the clerk finally agreed to honor our original rate.
The real problem came when we got to the upgraded room: instead of two beds (as we had reserved), there was only one bed for four people. The pull-out sofa in the room had been disabled, and though staff came up to check, they were unable to fix it. My husband and son ended up sleeping on the floor. To make matters worse, I was told that our reserved room had been given to another guest due to a third-party booking, even though we had booked directly with the hotel.
Given that all other area hotels were full for college move-in week, we could have easily been left without a place to stay. While I understand mistakes happen, the lack of communication, accountability, and guest care made this one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve ever had.
The hotel rooms were clean and well kept. I had issues with their Steakhouse the Republic of Fredonia. Arrived at the restaurant at our reservation time. After asking my name (my wife and I are of Mexican descent), we were told our table was not ready and we could wait at the bar or in the waiting area. I counted 6 open tables at the time. While waiting, 4 white couples checked AFTER us, and were all seated immediately. I pointed this obvious fact out to the hostess, and was offered bar table seating in their lounge chairs and low rise table. I refused the bar area seating and asked for a real table that we had a reservation for. We were then seated at one of the open dining tables. The waiter was pleasant, the dinner service was good. The food was phenomenal. I ordered a filet and burgundy mushrooms. During dinner a number of couples left and more white patrons seated. Upon leaving, i noticed two open tables, and a black couple waiting in the waiting area to be seated. Needless to say, what is obvious, is obvious.. will never return to this restaurant or hotel again…
Good to see the Fredonia still an anchor of Nacogdoches.
Best hotel in Nac!
Great staff at checkin!
Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff. Is friendly. There are restaurants and a pool on site which is nice. It’s also a close walk to the historic downtown. However, I do not think the price was worth it. I could have gotten the same service and probably a free breakfast at a chain hotel.
