Hotel Villa del Sueño

Great room, good size, very comfy bed, great shower - wish I could take it home! Staff are lovely.
Has a family owned feel to it.
The restaurant food is fantastic. Only gripe is the cost and the time it takes for food to arrive. After the first night we rebooked dinner an hour earlier and it still took an excruciatingly long time for food to arrive. Food really is delicious. But have also had food as good elsewhere nearby at half the price.
they have entertainment on frequently a band. Mainly 70s music but they are good. Bit loud if you want some quiet time.
There is a great restaurant at an adjacent hotel - turn right - 5 mins walk up the road on the left, if you want an alternative without driving.

Ate at this restaurant one evening, such a sweet spot, and the service was spectacular!! Multiple serving staff took care of us. The food was fresh and delicious! Highly recommend. Live music was an added bonus.

This hotel has been around for a while but does not show its age. It is safe, welcoming, clean and comfortable.

We were here before high season, so things were quite quiet. Staff were always available to serve you in the restaurant or answer questions at reception. The pool is clean and has some shade. The grounds are well kept. Parking is free

The beach is only a 3 minute walk away, which was good as that was why we came here. It is black sand, showing the volcanic nature of the area, and is backed by trees and bushes for shade.

The restaurant is excellent with prices to match. There are several options for breakfast here and all are well done. In high season there's a live band several nights a week. If you're looking for something else, there are other good restaurants on the main road (walking not recommended) and at the other end of the beach.

If you want to get away, reception can arrange transport. There are also infrequent public buses to Playas de Coco on the main road. Buses also go to Playa Panama and Liberia every hour

Rooms are very simple and outdated. Staff friendliness and overall attitude needs work. Often felt like an intrusion rather than a paying guest. Compared to the other places I stayed in Costa Rica on this trip, this place could use an overhaul in both accommodations/decor and service/hospitality.

It is a very safe place, breakfast was great, staff is very friendly, close to the beach, quiet area, good restaurant in the hotel. Wifi worked great but the cell phone coverage was spotty in town. We did not have a car; we used uber. I think this is a fine place for families and couples looking to relax.

Beautiful grounds, relaxing atmosphere, rooms were five star quality, no complaints whatsoever! Pool was cleas, big, and welcoming. Property was all well maintained. Felt safe the whole time

Small but clean room with pretty balcony views overlooking the pool, a great value overall I would say. Welcoming staff, they let us drop our bags early in front office for the day. We had dessert and breakfast in the restaurant and both delicious!

The highlight of staying at this hotel is the beautiful gardens which surround the villas and pool. From our balcony we enjoyed looking out onto flowering tropical plants, palms and listening to the birds sing.
The photos in the ad for this hotel are exactly what you can expect. The villas enjoy the use of a small pool surrounded by beautiful gardens. It is a wonderful space to relax. I'm addition to having beautiful grounds the hotel is only a short five minute walk from the beach.

The villa itself was comfortable and very clean. It had a studio layout with a small couch and table and chairs. The balcony was a highlight for us and we spent time there in the morning and evening when it wasn't too hot.

The stairway up to the villa entrance could be cleaned. I don't think it was swept during our stay and dirt and leaves accumulated over time. At night ants could be seen crawling along the ceiling in the room which was unsettling, but they never bothered us. We learned during our trip to accept the presence of insects in our accommodations as part of life in a tropical climate.

Breakfast was included every morning at the restaurant and it was quite tasty. There were a few different options to choose from and each was accompanied with a plate of fruit and a glass of juice. We did eat dinner at the restaurant on our first day and the food was good but overpriced for what it was.

We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.

This was the most beautiful place ever! It was sparkling clean, felt very aafe, and had an amazing staff. The grounds and pools are very well cared for, its like staying in the garden of eden. Loved the breakfast options, all really tasty. We would go there again in a heartbeat, this is a must visit while in Guanacaste!

This place is beautiful and the staff are so nice. Breakfast every morning was delicious. We had dinner one night and the food was great, but a bit on the expensive side. A short 5 minute walk to a great beach with calm waters. Definitely will stay here again if possible.

The 2 bedroom suite was very nice and I found it very cozy and convenient. About a 5 minute walk to the beach. Within 10 min to nearby restaurants. The A/C worked very well and they were very accommodating.

Nice property close to beach. Loved our patio. Found the restaurant wayyyy too highly priced. Breakfast was good but sur charges for any extras. Pool chairs dirty. Otherwise everything was great.
