Great food, welcoming staff.
Pros:

Food was excellent. Staff extremely helpful and considerate. Room was quiet. An electric blanket or hot water would probably be useful in January/February? 🤔😊 but as I was there in August no big deal.

Cons:

Pricey for a single visitor. But otherwise a very enjoyable stay. Know the owners need a break but being closed some days a week might be a deterrent?

Pros:

Comfortable rooms and good location for the Yarrow Valley.

Cons:

They've done away with the pub room, so there's no place to hang out for drinks or to relax. You can have a nice dinner and wine, but you can't get a pint -- no taps, just cans. Bring your own for your room because it's too far to the nearest pub.

A dream of isolation and pampering.
Pros:

Situated in the middle of nowhere, this was an ideal spot to chill out and enjoy the hotel.
The food was wonderful and the staff were ever attentive and always there to look after your every need.

Pros:

Lovely peaceful setting with countryside views. Attention to detail ensuring comfort in rooms. Delicious fresh, locally produced food with good gluten free options. Lovely breakfast and personal service.

A perfect rural restaurant with rooms in the Yarrow Valley
Pros:

I had OJ, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, brown and white bread toast, butter and marmalade plus a couple of large expressos.
A perfect breakfast.

I had an excellent three course dinner the preceding evening. The dining room books out at weekends but hotel guests have reserved tables. The bar is also a nice place in which to dine.

Cons:

The single beds in Room 2 don’t look like the sort of twin beds /divans which clip together …. but as I was on my own that was not what I had requested so it was not an issue … but it would be worth checking with the owners who are fab. If this is important for you don’t make an assumption … just check when booking.

Mogelijk waren onze verwachtingen te hoog na het lezen van alle recensies, maar wij waren minder onder de indruk van het eten dan eerdere gasten. Was goed klaargemaakt, maar niet heel bijzonder in de opmaak. Kamers erg gehorig voor geluid van buiten en andere kamers

Absolutely marvellous!! Great experience!!
Pros:

Amazing location, a perfect stop over on route to Scotland, fantastic couple running this place, they are very hard working and passionate, we received such a warm welcome, but it continued through throughout the stay, high levels of detail, Oxana is a wonderful host and person, Bryn is a super chef, awesome food, super clean, tidy and I can honestly say, I have no faults what so ever, I will be recommending this place to my family and friends as I know they will appreciate the delicious food and fine dining experience.

Thanks again to Oxana, Bryn and Sir Tom!!
