The Siren Hotel is in the perfect location for exploring and enjoying downtown Detroit. It was short street car ride to the DIA, a pleasant walk to the Detroit River waterfront trail and very close to many great restaurants. My room was small, but very comfortable- fluffy towels, crisp and fresh linens and everything I needed. The staff was genuinely warm and helpful - including making great recommendations for restaurants and cocktail bars. The hotel is across the street from Detroit's lovely YMCA and, as hotel guests, we had access to to this incredible facility. I will definitely stay at The Siren again.
The staff was nice and the room was small but esthetically fine. However, there was visible mold in between the glass shower tiles and the plumbing created a screachy sound anytime we used the shower or faucet or anyone in a room nearby did so. It was hard to get the noise to go away, the faucet had to be turned just so. Anyway, not ideal but otherwise clean and basically fine.
Great spot for our quick business trip. Fun vibe, clean comfortable, convenient self parking and great little cafe that opened early enough for me to grab well above average pastries, sandwiches and coffee.
This was my first, but not my last, stay at the Siren. The property is uniquely decorated, which is oh so welcome in this corporate world we live in. The lobby and rooms are nothing short of fun, and more importantly the entire property from the lobby to your bathroom is kept clean and tidy. The location is great, but above all else the hospitality is superb!
This hotel is one of the best locations to stay downtown and affordable. Its a boutique hotel with beautiful, unique decor. I absolutely loved the rainfall head shower. The regular rooms were kind of small and the beds are a little low to the ground so if thats not you're thing, then you'll be disappointed. But it was enough room for me and my cousin. We had 2 double beds. So order one of the upgraded suites if you want a larger space but for us being there for a concert and the price you cant beat it. The elevator can be wonky at times but seems like it didnt stay down long. The people were friendly and the candy bar had good drinks. I didnt get to try the other two bars but maybe next time, because I'll definitely be back even with the few quirks, this place has character.
The bed and blanket
No amenities: no microwave, no iron, no fridge, no food at siren cafe. Claimed short staffing caused food shortage…ice machine is in scary basement instead of being on a middle floor or 1 st floor. Lighting is scary and feels like outlook hotel. You could get attacked. No pics cause I was mad.
This is the second time I have stayed at the Siren Hotel. Everyone was so very nice both times and made checking in very easy. There is also online check in too.
Distance from event, staff courteous,
No parking, expensive parking fees
Loved where it was at, and the places it was around
No real public parking for the hotel
Wonderful staff, comfortable rooms and exceptional cleanliness. If you are not put off by the $50 valet fee before you even enter the front door, it's a great little hotel.
Was close to big venues, only a 3 min walk. The valet service was great, and super friendly. Easy check in. Fun vibe, and loved the decor
The only positive part of this hotel was its location. There was nothing unique or “boutique” about the hotel or the rooms. Rooms were small and the bed and pillows uncomfortable. The noise from the surrounding outside areas carries into the room and continued until about 2am each night. We were on the 5th floor and the sounds from the street were extremely loud.
The Siren is a very pretty little boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Detroit. It's location is perfect with walkability to many things. It's charm is evident as soon as you walk into the lobby. The staff was very kind. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Cutest little room! Very convenient and comfy little get away.
This hotel is so so cool. The location is amazing and the staff was great. Our only complaint was that the thermostat would not turn down and our room was stuck at 75.
Waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk to check me in. Music was so loud no one would have heard if I yelled for help. $150 for a 2pm check out which is normally free for my Hyatt status. Also didn’t explain that it was limited to only a few guests and needed to be requested immediately when I checked in. One bottle of warm water in the room. Coffee bar closed / none available for purchase. Line out the door at the same coffee bar the following morning when I came down for a coffee. $50 overnight parking. Felt like a hostel. Priced like luxury. Would never stay again. It was cute tho.
From phenomenal bed and pillows to location that makes for easy travel around the city via foot or people mover.
Great location. After hours bar is small, and was not able to get in. Hotel is 'vintage', so the elevator doesn't run well. Friendly staff and had a wonderful stay.
The title sums up the review. It’s way overpriced for the quality offered. Do not recommend this hotel.
