The pool and the grounds
The room was poor value for money. We had what we felt was the dregs of the rooms. It was dark and dingy with a small window and an adapted wet room rather than a bathroom. There was no chance of getting any sleep. You could hear everything from the room above, including them using the toilet and to.top it off the slamming door from the kitchen/restaurant behind our room was constant!
Clean, quiet room with comfortable bed and the staff were very friendly and professional.
Will definitely return here again.
Nothing.
Beautiful room, staff were friendly & helpful. Also the little touches for my partner's birthday were lovely! Pool is lovely and warm.
Also definitely recommend eating at the in-house Blok restaurant, I had the burger and my partner had the filet stake and it was all really good.
Beds very comfy and bedrooms spacious, decor in the communal areas beautiful, food very very good- lunch, dinner in the Blok restaurant and then breakfast.
The lack of access to spa facilities for hotel guests is what lets this hotel down, as it is not cheap to stay here, but this was made very clear prior to our stay and also when we checked in so it wasn’t like we weren’t made aware. The bedrooms were very hot but we did stay on a particularly hot day and they did provide a fan in the room but there is no air con. I always find it a bit odd when reception don’t ask you how your stay was or say anything other than thank you when you’ve paid when you check out.
Beautifully decorated property. We particularly enjoyed the relaxed evenings in the bar ...great food and service.
The bedroom we had was spacious but there was a distinct lack of basics like a luggage rack and space to put things in the bathroom. A shelf in the shower for shampoo etc would be useful. Whilst the staff serving food were fantastic, the reception staff were not helpful. It took a lot of moaning to get a luggage rack and the staff couldn't help with printing out tickets. Not what you expect in 5*. It seems strange to offer the pool and sauna but to charge £25 per person extra for the outside pool.
We had the most amazing stay at this hotel for our wedding anniversary last year. The suite we stayed in was beautiful, so spacious. The spa is amazing, probably one of the best we have visited & great that you can use it as much as you like during your stay, meaning we used it the night we got there and in the morning. The food in the Blok restaurant is absolutely delicious, followed by breakfast in bed the following morning to top it off. Definitely one of our favourite spa hotel stays.
We love everything and how personal they make it on special occasions. Our seeding year coming and it never disappoints and the food is just outstanding
The hotel was very characterful with helpful friendly staff. The pool was very attractive and the sauna also good. Afternoon tea was excellent as was breakfast the same morning.
It's situated in the middle of what is effectively a housing estate, with rather limited parking space.
Wow! What an amazing time we had celebrating my daughter’s birthday with the family. Every member of the waitressing team was friendly, efficient, and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The menú was exciting and the surroundings were beautiful. We rounded off our visit relaxing with drinks in the bar served by great bar tenders.
Thank you everyone for making our day.
Breakfast and room fabulous
Had the afternoon tea in the Lady Mary Coles tea room
Took my mum and daughter to celebrate her 89th birthday
Mum was presented with a glass of champagne to mark the occasion .
The service was 100% served by Bethany and Robert
The food was amazing selection of sandwiches ,cream stones and selection of cakes .
There was a good selection of hot drinks ,my mum said she enjoyed it more than the Ritz as the customer service was excellent
Would we go again most definitely
We attended a wedding there & the food was delicious. Beautiful rooms & lovely relaxing bar area etc. Did'nt use the spa but it looked lovely.
My husband and I stayed at the Lanelay Hotel & Spa for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
The hotel very kindly upgraded our room on arrival and in our room they left us a happy anniversary card, and Welsh cakes - a lovely touch. We enjoyed a Sunday roast dinner in Blok, and used the indoor spa facilities both nights.
I wasn't expecting the hotel to be in a newly built housing estate but we experienced no issues with this. The room was extremely quiet, comfortable and very clean.
We had breakfast on the first morning, which had a lot of fresh options and welcoming service.
Overall, excellent value for money, with a nice calm and quiet atmosphere.
For our first time in Wales, we wouldn't hesitate to come back. Thank you.
Staff were friendly an helpful; food in BLOK restaurant was delicious
Room was described as a 'deluxe suite' and room rate reflected that, however the ensuite was tiny and no seating area which I would expect from a deluxe suite. Charging £25 pp for use of outside pool.
