10/10 experience. I’ve stayed here twice and each time it was perfect. The rooms are spotless and beautiful. The view was great. The fitness room is 10/10. The location is great when you’re on vacation. It gives me Vegas big hotel vibes in the best way. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when going to Vancouver.
The room decor was beautiful, the reception staff were helpful printing out some paperwork, at a cost of course
My first room was above the terrace bar with loud music, I complained and was given a higher room but had 2 hours wasted sorting out the new room . Apparently the 1st room I got are not usually given to guests because of the noise , the manager phoned and apologised, but a small token gesture would have been nice , my request had been for a quiet room I was staying 2 nights and wonder why as a Bonvoy member I had been singled out , need to get more customer service training across the board .
We stayed here one night on the way to the airport (travelling from the Sunshine Coast). The location is phenomenal: steps from the beautiful sea wall and False Creek and close to Sky train (it was only about half an hour to the airport and that includes waking time!).
We stayed in a suite with lounge access. The suite had phenomenal views of the city and False Creek. The bathroom was amazing with a deep soaker tub (with crazy views)separate walk in shower and a separate toilet cubicle. As nice as the bathroom, the rest of the suite was very odd:
The living room had a odd and very uncomfortable couch and there didn't seem to be any AC in the bedroom so it was hot. My wife and I both noticed how uncomfortable the pillows were, not something I usually notice but it was hard to sleep....
The club lounge had good food options (breakfast and evening appetizers), cash bar but a nice wine selection with reasonable prices but the seating was limited and mostly couches/lounge chairs that made eating challenging.
The best part of the hotel were the staff, everyone was super friendly.
I spent two nights at the JW Parq during a recent trip to visit family. The JW and the Douglas (sister property attached) is part of the Parq casino complex near false creek.
The lobby can be hectic but owing to me being there super early (more on that later) it was nice and quiet. It’s a large open comfortable space, but just know the casino can be busy and is high end so there can be a lot of people floating around.
I had hiccups with my flights, and had to take a super early one. I was hoping for an upgrade due to my bonvoy status, but was hoping even more that I could get a room to rest shower etc. Dan at the front desk was amazing, said that he’d be happy to get me a room as one was available but that it wouldn’t be an upgrade but I could wait. I much preferred getting in early, so told him that was perfect. I appreciated their willingness to do this and it went a long way.
The last time I stayed here was in one of their suites, so I was curious what a basic room looked like. Very similar to other JWs in that it was large, spacious, airy and inviting. The bathroom was also very nice with a large shower and a seperate toilet. The view was meh owing to a lower floor, so just a view of the stadium wall next to the hotel but this added some privacy.
Elevators were always quick and I didn’t have to wait whether going up or down. The lounge is one of the best I’ve seen with great staff and great food options. It can get busy, so the size is appreciated. The fitness centre is extremely large with lots of good equipment and a great view. The only downside to this property is that it only has 1 small hot tub shared between the two properties. Room service was quick and a decent portion and tasted great.
All in all an excellent stay. Great service from wait staff to doormen. Well worth it in my view and I’ll come back soon. Kudos.
Great location. 10 min walk to bars and restaurants. Rooms were modern and well finished. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast service was a bit disjointed and could have been better. Breakfast itself was fine.
Beautiful, large rooms, convenient location, helpful staff.
In the middle of the night we could hear a party or rave, instead of where exactly it was coming from but it disturbed our sleep
Location was perfect, especially if you want to go to the Vancouver Canucks games. Loved that the toilet was closed off and you could have 2 people using the bathroom at once.
We enjoyed this hotel and had no complaints.
Staff and facilities. Location was good too. Breakfast -- good, but I prefer a buffet option.
Nothing.
Location is very good, close to Yaletown and can take a water taxi to most tourist areas. Room was spacious, had a decent closet to hang up clothes, and the bathroom was nice and actually had a fan which a lot of places don’t.
Casino in the property and close to arena makes for a different vibe and crowd, lively not relaxing. I understand some people would like that but it’s a different experience than other nice hotels for that reason.
The junior suite was comfortable.
There is no breakfast buffet. I would avoid this hotel if you are looking for a five star experience.
This was a great stay. The fitness facility is awesome! It was spacious and even had squat racks! The lounge on the 4th floor was a pleasure to visit. I had a chance to work in the lounge and enjoyed the food and drinks. Victor's restaurant is a convenient restaurant that has great steak and sushi. I appreciate that it opens until 2200.
