Shangri-La Colombo

Shangri-La Colombo was an absolutely stunning experience. The hotel is fantastic, with very clean rooms and restaurants, and the staff are extremely friendly. The food was also very good. I would truly recommend this hotel, and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you all

This is a great hotel for an opulent stay in Colombo. The location is smack in the middle of most of the historic areas: Pettah and Fort are just across a canal, the One Galle Face Mall is attached to the hotel, and the sea is just across the street. Staff was always available and helpful to anything I requested. The room was modern and luxurious, with huge windows overlooking Beira Lake and the Lotus Tower. It had all the latest features, except a coffee machine. They did have a tea kettle, though. It was a large room, too, with a couple of beds and a pair of armchairs and coffee table. It was really relaxing, and provided a great base for my trip to Colombo. It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it for me.

BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING. THE ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS UNMATCHED. GREAT LOCATION AND VERY CLOSE TO THE MALL FOR SHOPPING. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

Absolutely loved our time here. The outdoor bar area is the ideal place to relax after dark, with a warm, inviting atmosphere and perfectly curated lighting that really sets the mood. The cocktail menu is creative and thoughtfully crafted, and you can immediately tell the bartenders put real passion and care into every drink they make.

As the evening goes on, the whole place truly comes alive with an amazing vibe. Every staff member we interacted with was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A special mention to Rashmi, our waitress, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and made the experience feel even more special.

Great location and attached to the mall. The chefs during breakfast were brilliant and provided great service. Check in & Check out was a breeze. Beautiful views from the rooms.

The facilities and location was great. Food as always was exceptional. The staff was extremely nice and accomodating, special shout out to the Horizon Club staff Tharindi, Dinesh, Eshan, Tharaka, Buhari, Geethma and Teran.

Our stay at Shangri-La Hambantota was truly exceptional from beginning to end. From the beautiful surroundings to the warm hospitality, everything about the experience felt special. We visited with our children aged 1 and 3, along with a few friends and family members, and every single person left with unforgettable memories.

The resort itself is stunning. The pool area was absolutely amazing and became one of our favorite places to relax and spend quality family time. The kids’ play area was another highlight, where our little ones had endless fun and excitement every day. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the two wonderful ladies managing the kids’ area, who were incredibly patient, caring, and attentive with all the children. As parents, it gave us such peace of mind seeing our kids so happy and comfortable around them.

The food experience was equally memorable. We especially loved the traditional hopper station, where the always smiling local ladies prepared fresh hoppers with so much warmth and charm. Their cheerful energy every morning felt like sunshine served alongside breakfast and added such an authentic Sri Lankan touch to our stay.

A very special mention must go to the outstanding leadership shown by Mr. Indika Kodituwakku and Mr. Nissanka. Their professionalism and dedication clearly reflect throughout the resort, and the service standards they maintain are truly world class.

We also cannot say enough good things about Ms. Umayangana and Mr. Prasad in the dining area. They went far beyond simple hospitality and genuinely made us feel like family. Every interaction with them felt sincere, warm, and personal. They remembered our preferences, constantly checked on the kids, made sure our family and friends were comfortable at all times, and always greeted us with the kindest smiles. Dining never felt like just another meal. It felt like being welcomed home after a long day. Their attention to detail and natural kindness created the kind of experience guests remember long after the holiday ends.

Another wonderful example of the hotel’s incredible staff training was Mr. Chandika, who patiently cleaned up the little disasters our kids managed to create, all while carrying a smile brighter than the Sri Lankan sun itself. Never once did he seem bothered. Just pure kindness and positivity throughout.

And then there is the unforgettable Mr. Priyadarshana, the daredevil behind the recreation activities. What an absolute gem of a person. Energetic, friendly, approachable, and full of life. He brought such a fun atmosphere to every activity and made everyone, adults and kids alike, feel included and welcomed.

Shangri-La Hambantota gave us more than just a holiday. It gave us warmth, laughter, relaxation, and memories that our family will treasure for years to come. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Had an amazing stay at Shangri-La Hambantota. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food was delicious, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our stay.

I have been here several times, both for business and for pleasure. It has always been good: the rooms are very nice, the restaurants are good, breakfast-buffee-marvellous, and the pool and spa-facilities are nice. The proximity to Galle Face mall is also sincerely convenient. In short: always a nice place to stay.
