Fabulous location, very historic and interesting, great room with river view, excellent breakfasts and dinners.
Excellent location with deeply historic and interesting environment with a spectacularly historic building. Our room overlooked the river with splendid quiet views. Breakfasts and dinners were marvellous.
Very recommended !!
The history and grounds.
The lovely decor and open fires. Fantastic food.. Welcoming staff. Comfortable bed.
Room was very comfy with bath and shower. High quality fitments. Short stay so didnlt spend a great deal of time at the hotel.
The weather. As with all hotels you get stung badly if you are a solo traveller. Would have been nice to have had the fire going in the lounge.
The road system in and around Aberdeen caused havoc with my sat nav due to the road closures so we seemed to take miles of detours to find the location.
Magnificent historic hall with real fire
Friendly attentive staff
Warm atmosphere
Comfortable room with spacious modern bathroom
Easy parking
Wonderful location
Food was good, especially breakfast. The great hall was lovely to sit round the fire on a cold winter evening. Staff friendly and efficient.

Everything
Nothing but next time I will request a river view
El desayuno preparado a la carta muy bueno.
La habitación con vistas directas al aparcamiento.
It’s in a lovely spot - on the river. The main hall was nice in the evening but the staff struggled to make a decent fire and we had to fix it ourselves!
It was really understaffed and the food was appalling
Excellent
Food choice could of been more extensive
Rooms first class.
Poor choice on menu both main meal and dessert, need experienced bar staff who can pull a proper pint , very poor selection draught beer.

Lovely setting, loads of history associated with the building. En-suite Bathroom had obviously been recently refitted and was both spacious and well appointed.
Staff were helpful and ‘went the extra mile’ to make us feel comfortable.
Only real negative was the furniture in the room looked very worn (many scratches on the vanity unit) and there was a burn mark on the carpet where a previous resident had dropped an iron. Overall it had obviously been used for residents who had dogs and had the associated wear and tear.
