Nice location. Nice view from hotel.
Room size small , Air conditioning was missing.
Great views.
Room was clean comfortable, but one side of bed was against a wall.
Breakfast was not very good. Lots of tables not cleared away after people. Run out of glasses at the juice part. Waitress was very rude, but I think it was due to the fact they were struggling to cope. Had to wait for tea and coffee until after finishing breakfast and no cups to drink from. Same Waitress brought the two pots asked if we needed anything else and was told cups and then came back with one cup.
Stayed at the Harbour hotel in Padstow had a great experience. In a different league in the restaurant as to St. Ives.
(Service and food).
Me and my partner was walking around st ives and decided to go for a coffee. This was Sunday 2nd of August. We went down the steps to the bar though the door. I sat down to wait for our coffee. My partner came out and said that someone would bring it out. 20 minutes later no coffees was brought. My partner went back in to ask where the coffees was. My partner came from the bar and sat down. The bar lady came with the coffees and said immediately to my partner. Don’t you be rude to me I don’t get paid enough money. Even though me and my partner apologised. She kept on coming for us for at least 10 minutes and also got another guest involved. It was total chaos. It’s the first time I have ever experienced this in a hotel.
The location was very good if you are after the quiet side and a beach
The staff were not trained properly in any area. Constantly getting simple breakfast orders wrong, or small requests were forgotten about.
Our room smelled like damp, and the showers kept going ice cold. The girl working in the spa also told everyone it closed early so everyone could shower?
Location
Not being told that a wedding was being held on a week day night and being kept up until 1am from the music and guests!! Once we had got to sleep we were then woke up at 5ak from the recycling lorries! A very expensive and disappointing experience
De ligging, de sfeer en de kamer
Ontbijt (chaotisch) waarschijnlijk door gebrek aan gekwalificeerd personeel
Everything was really good, as I've experienced previously there - amazing views, comfort, lovely spa facilities
Breakfast. This seemed quite disorganised the overnight I was there/ not quite up to normal standards. It took ages to be seated, to get a cup of tea, and then to get the correct tea I'd ordered rather than one I hadn't. I can only think it was because they'd had a wedding the night before and there weren't enough staff on for the breakfasts. As it was my only night there I'd really wanted to make the most of the spa facilities before checking and would have preferred breakfast to have not taken quiet so long. But probably this was a one-off as I've not had this experience on previous stays. Everything else in the hotel was great.
View of the harbour is amazing. HarSpa was very good and got 20% when we booked online the day before. Ocean suite room was huge. Short walk to town.
Outside spaces needs some maintenance. We couldnt use the balcony because the decking was shedding paint and the seat covers had been left out so were covered in bird poo.
Cleanliness was an issue. Maintenance staff tried hard but played losing battle to the seagulls which left the cushion seats on the patio ( Velcro no longer working) unpleasant to use. Staff were mixed. Some were extremely good others followed the ‘computer says no’. Dog owners are welcomed but there are insufficient restrictions on where the dogs can defecate. We witnessed some owners who clearly were of the view that their animals were the most important things in the world, allow them to openly defecate on the one open small lawn at the back of the hotel, even though , the dog friendly beach was an easy walk 100 metres away. Some picked up the droppings ( but of course not all of them) whilst others just walked away. This lawn was used. By families who had very small toddles who were crawling to come into direct contact with the dirtied sites. When we brought this to receptions notice, the response was “We’ll have to look into that”.
When we arrived for our short break, there was a previously unannounced wedding taking place. This of course severely restricted our usage of the hotel facilities which were closed to paying guests. The same occurred on our last evening when we had asked to have a meal in the hotel. We were told that areas of the hotel were closed to hotel guests as they were hosting an end of school Gala Event for students . Once again, there had been no previous advance notification. We had left using the hotel dining room evening fare for the last evening so we’re very fortunate to find a late ding booking elsewhere at short notice. The alternative would have been pizza or fish and chips on the harbour wall. Not at all what we had in mind. The only saving Grace for this hotel is its SPA unit which is okay.
It was beautiful and great location in terms of the beach.
Should have an aircon at this price point but the air flow through the room was good enough. Pretty long walk from town center.
Location and rooms were beautiful but bathrooms need updating as shower and bath were tired
The location was amazing.
Staff were friendly
Rooms were really nice
Location, breakfast, room set up,
Wifi was extremely weak and we couldnt even watch any games.
