Pros:

It was beautiful and great location in terms of the beach.

Cons:

Should have an aircon at this price point but the air flow through the room was good enough. Pretty long walk from town center.

Very nice location but expensive for what it was. We were awoken most nights by the room above us and the lift and doors

Poor. Used to come here with my parents in the 1960’s. Hasn’t improved or been updated much

Proximity to railway station.

Cons:

Cleanliness. Maintenance staff tried hard but played a losing battle to the seagulls. Staff were mixed. Some were extremely good and did a great job, others were followed the ‘computer says no’ line. Dog owners are welcomed but there is no control over where dogs are allowed to defecate . Some individuals allowed their animals to defecate where toddlers crawled on free public space when there was a close by dog walker beach are park area. We arrived to an unannounced wedding. This restricted our use of the hotel on day 1 and on our last evening areas of the hotel were again closed to public use for a local school prom event. Effectively half of our break was left with large areas of the hotel unavailable to us.

All staff were very pleasant except the young girl that checked us out with dark hair.
Pros:

Location was great, arrival reception lady with long blonde hair was really good and all breakfast staff were really good too.

Cons:

The lady on reception when we checked out wasn’t very good at all, totally different experience to the blonde lady that checked us in.
She hardly spoke….had no personality at all, reception is a very important part of customer service.

Also the breakfast staff uniforms look really old and need replacing.

Hadden kamer met onbijt geboekt, geen warme spijzen zoals een eitje zijn inbegrepen.je kan een bijkomende keuze maken van de breakfast kaart , voor warme bereidingen. De kaart toont items met en zonder prijs, maar dit is niet correct. Voor scrambled eggs met zalm of avocado toast moet er bij betaald worden niettegenstaande er geen prijs bij staat op de kaart die ze je geven. Je krijgt ook geen bonnetje dagelijks en hebben dit pas gezien bij de afrekening toen we vertrokken. Geen aangename verrassing.
Niet erg proper, er is te weinig personeel voor dit grote hotel. Het hotel ligt aan een drukke straat.

Cons:

The room was expensive, considering there was no ventilation and it was located next to a noisy road. It was really weird and I am not talking about cooling, but ventilation- specifically, the min airflow that should be exhausted via the bathroom.

Great hotel - a good distance from the overcrowded st Ives, great to be able to escape from the town.
Pros:

Lovely big room with amazing view over the sea, great swimming pool and jacuzzi, friendly staff, lovely bar and restaurant, restaurant food at dinner was excellent, gorgeous sandy beach with very clean water and nice cafes near by.

Cons:

The window only opens an inch or two, to keep the seagulls out, so the room was a bit stuffy during the heat wave, even with a fan. The shower dripped for ages after using it, very noisy, taps need some WD40.

Die Kellner waren unfreundlich und schlecht gekleidet. Massenabfertigung ohne Charme.
Wer die schlechte britische Küche mag ist hier richtig. Wir waren 7 Tage hier und das Personal erkannte uns wieder. Unpersönliches Hotel. Gut für 1 oder 2 Nächte.

Super Lage, nur Zimmer mit Meerblick sind empfehlenswert.

Die Lage ist super. Auch das Restaurant ist sehr empfehlenswert. Das Spa ist sauber und gepflegt.

Cons:

Wir hatten drei Zimmer auf die Strasse hinaus. Da wir wegen der Hitze die Fenster offen halten mussten, war der Verkehr gefühlt mitten im Zimmer. Am Morgen um 6 Uhr ging dann auch noch die Lüftung an. Das Zimmer 212 ist sehr klein für zwei Person. Es hat kaum Platz für Gepäck. Im Bad kann man die Sachen nirgends hinstellen. Die vielen Dekokissen (zwar schön anzusehen, aber völlig unnötig) nehmen zusätzlich Platz weg. Also unbedingt Zimmer mit Meersicht buchen.

Lovely stay in St ives during a heatwave
Pros:

Check in was good, we had booked a spa session, and they very helpfully rescheduled it for us as we had been stuck in traffic. Staff were exceptional throughout. Lunch and breakfasts were very pleasant, and bar staff very friendly.

Cons:

The room was tiny for the money and even though a fan was provided, the room was stifling hot at night. Didn’t get the best night’s sleep but thankfully traffic noise was not an issue even though we were street facing.
