There were problems with hot water in the shower. There were hair and beard shavings left in both the shower and the sink

Older style centrally located hotel. Fair, not great, value.
Pros:

Hotel was clean and reasonably comfortable. Freshly cooked hot breakfast.

Good hotel, poor breakfast.
Pros:

Room was warm, dry and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and sufficient, although the shower cubicle was small. Beds were comfortable.

Cons:

The breakfast was poor, especially at £10 each. Most of it had been cooked in advance and kept warm, making the mushrooms rubbery and the hash browns tough.
