Very enjoyable stay and fantastic location.
Pros:

Really nice building and facilities. Superb location as no more than 10mins walk to a selection of eateries and shops. Very friendly helpful staff. We booked last minute and although our room was a little dated it was exceptionally clean and bright and comfortable. Very good selection for breakfast also including a great selection of homemade jams.

Charming decor, gardens and well located in historic Chinon
Pros:

Charming boutique hotel with easy access to the historic quarter of Chinon. As one approaches the hotel, the lovely flowering bushes and trees create a heavenly impression. We were on a cycling tour, this is definitely a cycling friendly hotel, with a secure spot for locking up bikes. We did not book our rooms directly (it was done through our tour company) but I believe that we had a de Maître room, on the second floor, very spacious, elegantly decorated with period furnishings and traditional wallpaper. We did not have air conditioning which we were rather weary of because it was a very hot June, however there was a fan provided, we left the two large windows open and we were fine. The breakfast area was very nice, had a bit of communal kitchen feeling to it, very cozy. Our cycling that day took longer than we thought, and we had a wine tasting booked at Caves Plouzeau, we had to drop our luggage and race over there before they closed. We were told that the front reception would be closed by the time we returned, and they have a nighttime entrance in the back. Overall the hotel was a lovely place to stay, which we could have stayed longer.
