Tongan Beach Resort

We came only because of a delay in our flight from Vavau to Tongatapu. But the short stay was so amazing. The hotel operators were very nice and kind, and helped accommodate our last-minute changes due to the flight uncertainty. We will come back again in future to watch the whales!

Right on the beach, comfy beds, a lovely restaurant and bar and wonderful service, this place is worth the trek out from town!

Incredibly warm and hospitable, Shane and his lovely wife Helen immediately welcomed us in. We were so hungry, and they offered us their own burgers rather than having us wait. The view is spectacular the food is delicious and the staff are kind and friendly.

Nice resort, well run by the owners. It has comfortable rooms, private beach, a very useful pier for the trip boats and sea floor is rich of corals. Owners organised boat trips for us to visit nice places for snorkelling and diving. It was not the season for whales watching yet and there were not many tourists. We enjoyed kayaks made available by the resort together with fins and masks. Swimming pool and sunbeds were not available at the time.

Staff were great, venue and location great.

An incredible place to stay while on Vavau! Staff was wonderful and place was kept clean the entire stay. Very peaceful place to stay for a calm break from life. Will definitely stay again next time I am in the area

The staff is amazing. Every person we encountered was kind, helpful, and engaging. Also you are 20 steps from the beach, fantastic bed, shower and porch.

部屋はビーチフロントで蚊も少なく快適に過ごせました。またビーチからは鯨のジャンプなども見えとても感激しました。

良かった点は、部屋にエアコンもあって暑くても快適、清掃もきっちりされて清潔、食事が美味しい、ホテルのビーチに桟橋があってツアーボート利用に便利。改善点は、Ｗｉｆｉはロビーだけで部屋で使えないのがとても不便、広いバスルームにバスタブが欲しい、飲料水は到着時にありましたが毎日補充して欲しい。

Good snorkelling just off the wharf, great staff, amenities and restaurant.

This resort is in a gorgeous location - we saw a whale and calf pass close by whilst at breakfast. Easy to kayak and snorkel off the beach, excellent food and delightful staff.
Highly recommended if you are looking for the perfect place to relax and enjoy a sunset cocktail in an authentic Tongan setting - distant church singing, roosters crowing and the occasional pig passing by.

Situated on a lovely beach. Very friendly staff.

A booking mix up meant that we were booked into the resort even though it was still closed for refurbishment (the rooms were finished, but not the restaurant, bar and other common areas). The owners, Shane and Helen, learnt of this mix up only the day before we were due to check in, and tracked us down in Vava'u (no easy feat). As an alternative, we were put up in the Boathouse Apartments in town, and someone from the resort drove us out every day. We were given the use of a room at the resort with access to the beach, and then were driven back to town every afternoon. So while it wasn't what we had planned, Shane and Helen did everything in their power to ensure we had a lovely stay.

The highlight was the snorkeling trip to the Japanese Gardens and Swallow-Tail cave. A must do. The food at this resort was excellent. The Vava'u pineapple is the best in Tonga.
