Es war SO schön!
Das Zimmer (das Studio im Souterrain) war sehr gemütlich, mit einer Küchenzeile ausgestattet und angenehm kühl trotz 35°C Hitze draußen (auch ohne Klimaanlage. Diese ist nur in den oberen Zimmern verbaut!).
Das Gastgeberpaar hat das Haus mit so viel Liebe zum Detail hergerichtet, man vergisst, wie alt alles ist!
Der Garten ist groß und bietet viel Schatten, was zu einem Tag ausruhen während des Urlaubs einlädt!
Das Frühstück war super liebevoll, mit allem was man sich wünschen kann, inkl. gutem Kaffee ebenfalls von den Gastgebern ganz toll hergerichtet!
Die Lage ist perfekt, keine 10Minuten zu Fuß zum Bahnhof mit einem Direktzug nach Gent (einmal die Stunde, Fahrzeit etwa 40Min)!
Nach Brügge war es ebenfalls nicht weit, mit dem Auto etwa 40min!
Der Gastgeber hatte uns auch hilfreiche Tipps für Unternehmungen (zb Hinweis auf Markttag in Brügge an dem es extrem voll ist...) und die Kommunikation war auf Englisch sehr unkompliziert!
Wir haben uns extrem wohl gefühlt und würden diese Unterkunft jedem empfehlen der Städtetrips machen möchte aber trotzdem eine Ruheoase sucht!

Very friendly and attentive staff, we were made to feel really welcome and received lots of useful tips for things to do and see during our stay. The owner even charged up our e-bikes for us and lined them up ready to go in the morning. The building is really beautiful and thoughtfully restored/decorated. Tthe rooms were very clean and comfortable. Great selection of fresh (some home-made) products for breakfast.
We stayed in the Charles Dudelet room and while it was perfectly clean and very comfortable, I felt it missed some of the art nouveau detail/extras that are present in the other rooms (judging by the photos) that we were expecting. It felt like an "ordinary" room in a regular hotel eg no special tiling in the bathroom.
The hotel is on a busy main road which wasn't at all noisy, so no problem with that, however the pavement outside is in poor condition and for some reason the street lights were not working so walking back to the hotel in the dark (pitch black) was rather treacherous and nerve-wracking - of course this is not the hotel's fault, but it did mar the experience a little.
Such a beautiful house! The house was behind my expectations and was so lovely, the service and hosts were incredible!

Wij namen geen ontbijt wegens een brunch afspraak elders, maar men vond het helemaal ok dat wij een een koffie namen in de tuin die we dan gewoon zo afrekenden. Topmomentje.
