I had an amazing stay here! The staff was awesome and my accommodations were perfect. The only thing I didn’t like was the convenience of getting to and from El Nido. The hotel provided free transportation but only to the main square.

It was a run down hotel. It was dirty and black mould throughout the room. The bed was like sleeping on a rock. We actually moved to lime resort and it was fantastic

Cute little cottages just a short trek from town. Tricycle able to take you back and forth--do need service to call/whats app them to request it.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE this place!!! From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and met every expectation. The staff made sure we had "to go" breakfast on a morning that we were leaving for a private boat tour, so kind. The dinning area is incredible; we could've just sat there for hours as the view was perfect! Right on the water; so beautiful. Food was great. We walked to and from town, for us no big deal only a short walk to everything. The grounds are as clean as they could be and so beautiful with the flowers, trees, rock walkway, and little sitting areas. Our "cabin" was perfect, air conditioning worked very well, clean, and just what we needed. We would recommend this place to everyone and if ever in the area again would stay here. Thanks for such an amazing stay!!!

Our cottage, Unit 1 had a fabulous view of the ocean. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and always attentive to the needs of the hotel guests. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and families.

Fantastisk utsikt og flott restaurant hetl i strandkanten. Stranda er fin, men ikke noe særlig å bade på. Veldig langgrunn og full av stein.
Ligger litt kronglete til, men gratis tuktuk transport til sentrum fra 06 til 18.

Golden monkey cottages is a little gem in el nido. Slightly off the beaten track to one side of the town square, but easily accessible by Tuktuk along the beach. Its charming rooms (people say definitely get a front cabana, but we had room 13 with a beautiful view of the bay) have aircon/and or fan, fridge, and comfy clean bed. Considering it is the same price as the hostels, it’s a bargain. The food is perfectly adequate, even the apple sauce with your bacon in the morning is endearing. Nice bar overlooking the bay is a nice place to meet travellers and swap stories. But the best part of the place is the staff. They cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. They can sort out any problems, and the answer to most of your questions is ‘yes sir, no problem’. We loved it and would recommend it to people like us who are not looking for luxurious standards.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Monkey. The staff was great. The breakfast in the morning was good and filling with strong brewed coffee served by a nice girl named Vanz. There was another server, but I missed her name. The wonderful July at the desk arranged our tour and rides to the airport. Pads the tuk tuk driver was great, also helped carry our luggage to the second floor room with a great view. It’s not a high end resort, but very comfortable with a short ride or 15 minute walk into town. Beach was good for shelling. Not great for swimming. Best beach for swimming is the Corong Corong side or El Nido town.

Views wonderful. Noise around area and within property disappointing. I was awoken quite a bit by staff, construction workers, loud guests. Staff gave misinformation and was not prepared for transport when said would.

We love the staff service and the view of the resort. My kids loved our stay at it that they don't want to leave the place already. We fell in love with the view at the resort location. We also love the breakfast options, its free breakfast, and its free tuktuk service from/to the resort. We will definitely come back here.

You would have the best view if you’re staying at cottage 1.

Great value for money

Was a relaxing stay with the splash of the sea & the awesome mountains around

I booked room one, a family room, as it was the last room available at the time.

I didn’t need the additional space but it was worth the additional cost for the view. There was seating and two sun beds on the deck overlooking the bay. Unrestricted water views.

The hotel isn’t new, but gets five stars for the view and the excellent food.

Good, quiet location right on the waterfront, comfortable room, good rates, and above all extremely helpful, friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay and made the most of our time.

The place has been updated, but it is very basic.
The view is stunning and the bar/breakfast area is gorgeous. The hotel has a ‘free’ tuk-tuk, but the tuk-tuk is conveniently broken once they have picked you up at town-square… one of the staff has his own tuk-tuk, which is 200p should you want to use it.
We stayed in the sea view cottages, right next to the bar/breakfast area - the guests are extremely noisy and inconsiderate. So there was no ‘romantic sleep-in mornings’ as the screaming kids kills the mood pretty quickly.
One evening the staff had a birthday party right in front of our cottage with loud music and loud talking - at 23h00 one of the other guests came out to address them. They were also drinking straight from the bar between the other guests.
Over all, the view is absolutely stunning, but the staff and facilities needs an upgrade.

A beautiful location on Calaan Beach, which is just an easy 5-10 minute walk into town.
The cottage I stayed in was basic with just a ceiling fan, which is fine for me, with a very tropical jungle feel to the rooms.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The grounds are kept immaculate.
The breakfast included was simple, but delicious and the view from the restaurant/bar everyone morning is memorable.
Really enjoyed staying here and not in town centre.
Would return on my next visit to el nido.

Our stay was great. The rooms were spacious and we stayed in one on the seafront so had a lovely view.
The food was also very good however they could add a few non pasta based options.
The staff were very helpful and organised transfers, trips and laundry for us.
The drains in the bathroom did smell a lot of the time however we are aware this may be common in the phillipines. The towels were clean however they left residue on your skin as though they were shedding.
Overall would recommend a stay here
