Open and very peaceful. Beautiful view of the river. The owners and staff were top notch. The food was delicious and reasonable
O thing
Love the location, by the Mekong and so green with magnificent trees.
Food was also great - mixture of western and Lao food and reasonably priced.
We had a fabulous two nights at this lovely hotel by the Mekong River in April 2025. The owners have a wonderful place with comfortable and clean accommodation in the perfect setting with delicious food! The owner has designed and built the majority of this place and the attention to detail is amazing. It was the perfect setting for us to sit and relax as well as explore the local area. The wooden cabins are spacious with a balcony for you to sit and chill and they are away from the main building so you left with complete tranquility. They have AC and a fan which easily keeps you chilled when it’s high temperatures. The staff are excellent and make you feel very welcome and we had a great night with Sean the owner and loved listening to his adventures… we’d recommend you sit and share a beer with him. We ate here for every meal; the food is freshly cooked for you and delicious and extremely good value for money. You are only a 20 minute drive from Pakse which is a lovely city and 30 minutes from Vat Phou which is definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful place at the Mekong riverbank, great view on a typical Mekong scenario lof small rocks and islands in the river. First class food, always cooked with fresh ingredients and fresh oil. The owner even took us to a viewpoint at the temple on the nearby hill, and he and his wife helped us a lot to catch a transfer to our next destination. Very friendly atmosphere.
Great place at the Mekong, good restaurant with Mekong view
The owner has good information for the region, the staff is nice
Very clean room
The rooms are very small, the bed is incredible hard
The rooms do not have Mekong views, as some pictures might pretend
The shared bathroom is two shower cabins (ok), the two toilets and tiny bassins are used by many people and never really clean
The price is quite high for a room like this
Beautiful location and the food was amazing, best we had in Laos. Great place to chill by the river and have a beer with the owner Sean while swapping adventure stories
Maybe some soap in the bathroom and a kettle in the room.
Super glad I booked this place because it was truly exceptional. The owners and their staff were so friendly and trustworthy.
The food was the best out of all the restaurants in the entire area. Super fair price and quite delicious!! It’s also great having an option to rent a motorbike because you can see A LOT with it.
The room was very comfortable (stayed in a bungalow with a/c). It was also super quiet, which I loved.
I highly recommend this hotel. Absolutely amazing
Stunning location with mountains behind you and the Mekong river at your door step. We thought the restaurant was reasonably priced after all it is very convenient in a quiet area. The staff and hosts were very lovely and accommodating. Super cute friendly dog, took some warming up but we became friends in no time. Thankyou so much :)
Mattress was quite firm.
The location is beautiful, right on the Meekong River. Very peaceful. Facilities are exceptional. Rooms very comfortable and clean. I chose a bungalow which was excellent
There is nothing to not like about Wopakok. Shaun & Narley are perfect hosts. They made my friends wedding a very special day. Food was fantastic, and the staff very helpful. I cant thank them enough
very beautiful house close to the river and not to far from the road but it’s quiet . done a lot of work to build the house. also to keep it clean. thank you for positive staff. food in the cafe was tasty and price for food a bit more than in street cafe. the room and bathrooms were very clean and nice quality sheets. ac and fan works very well.
very hard mattress. our bodies felt tired after sleep((
and pillows are so so-too high.
roosters are noisy in the morning hahah
Memories were created in this gorgeous family guesthouse.
Nallee and Sean were the perfect hosts. Very helpful with arrival from and departure to Pakse, the hire of the automatic scooter for two days.
Our accommodation, Bungalow Deluxe was delightful with amazing views of the Mekong and no mosquitoes.
The restaurant spotless, food delicious from Juices to Lap, Pad, Thai, Rice, Chips, Schnitzel and Salads, everything fresh from the daily market......

The bungalows were great. It is a bit out of town but they have a restaurant there so it doesn't matter. Beds were comfortable 😌
I loved every minute of my stay here. I got on brilliantly with both the owners, felt completely at home and at ease in the place.
This is the perfect place to do nothing and just relax, which is exactly what I did. The gardens are beautiful, all the food I tried on the menu was brilliant. Theres a great buzz and atmosphere around the place without being over powering. It's easy to find a quiet corner to yourself to soak up the beauty.
If I'm ever back in Laos I'll be sure to stop here again. Thanks Sean and Naly, I had some great laughs.
There was nothing I didn't like, I enjoyed it all.
The family hotel is beautifully located on the Mekong River and is the perfect accommodation for those who simply need a short break from traveling. The whole staff but especially the owners are super warm. We had a great time and enjoyed it very much.

The people working in this establishment (except for the owner) are incredibly nice, helpful and courteous.
I truly hope they will find someone decent to work for shortly - they deserve better.
My review is a 3 because of them and the incredibly hardworking owner's wife (who's doing all the actual work). The owner deserves 0 or perhaps a negative 10.
The owner of this place, an Irish man who is always hanging around, is giving just the worst customer experience I've ever seen in my life.
Within the 5 minutes that I interacted with him (in total) he:
- made sexual comments about a lady guest to another guest behind her back;
- shouted at me for no reason ("I [cursing] hate that you asked this a second time" - hard to believe, I know, but it's an exact quote);
- commented to his friends upon my arrival "I couldn't read his [cursing] name" - exact quote).
Every day he's either drunk or hung over, drinking beer all day long, farting and burping aloud in front of everyone in the cafe... The guests have to make it look like they don't notice, out of their politeness. All of the above is only part of what I witnessed.
A truly miserable sight.
this big garden with majestic Mekong River view .coffee, reading, enjoy tranquil atmosphere sorrounding sunrise and sunset. just relaxing that addicated in both vision and heart be peaceful, enjoyment, not transit but staying for traveling
Beautiful setting and friendly helpful staff on site
Poor communication prior to arrival, the number of people sharing toilet/shower was quite a lot and the property was not full.
