Shower in my room
Unbelievably shabby furniture throughout the property. Bedroom balcony was filthy - green moss on the floor and didn’t look as if it had been cleaned in a long time. Balcony chairs were old and dirty. Bed uncomfortable.
Dinner menu poor. £34 for 2 courses but the hotel wouldn’t let you eat one course. What happens if you only want one course? When I tried to discuss this with reception staff they were rude and dismissive.
Limited breakfast choices.
Grounds not properly maintained - weeds everywhere.
Made to pay to use the swimming pool - outrageous. I am already paying to stay there.
Plate left in the corridor for a day. Dead fly left on a windowsill in the corridor for 3 days.
Great location
Apparently Enid Blyton stayed there regularly, nothing has changed since then.
At breakfast, they ran out of cups, milk, hot water and many other things.

Great location, quirkiness, breakfast
Pool was dirty and green, expensive for value
Location great, good bar with lovely garden view, lovely breakfast
Pool area very weedy and also £10 extra per person to use it not mentioned at time of booking. Was very disappointed with this on top of an already expensive stay
Good location and great breakfast
Woken up 3 times by noisy radiator which staff knew about but obviously not fixed!
Radiator in bathroom red hot and unable to turn off.
Rooms made to look much bigger on site.
Pool and Spa facilities very tired and in need of updating.
Location
Staff, pictures are not a true reflection, very dated and falling apart. Having to pay additional fee to use the swimming pool
Location, setting, charming
Tired, pool was dirty as filter was broken
Interesting historical old style hotel in a great location to explore the Jurassic coast.
Disappointed that no housekeeping was offered during our 4 night stay.
Staff, atmosphere, situation. Near coast
Wifi could have been better
Lovely 30s decor, location with sea views
Dinner was poor, old style British stodge
The location is excellent. The breakfasts were also excellent. The hotel was very dog friendly.
Our room in particular (nr 123) and the hotel in general felt very dated and in need of a major refurbishment.
The cost of our stay felt very overpriced given the quality of our room.
£20 per dog per night is extortionately expensive.
Choice of evening meals are limited to a two course menu which at £34 per head (excluding drinks) again felt too limited and too expensive.
Location good. Nice surroundings. Nice staff.
A bit dated in some areas.
VG breakfast out door pool good but the wind made it too cold to swim
Evening meal very good and dinning room over looks the bay
Breakfast was really good. The games room was very good gor the grand children. Evening meals were really good, the staff organised a special meal for two vegan guests.
You found something interesting to look at around every corner, amazing rooms , everywhere very clean .
Beautiful views.
Quite
