Foveaux Hotel

All thought this hotel is of an older type it was an excellent place to stay. Close to the ferry terminal and were able to park car at the rear of hotel. They also stored bags for us and had them in our room upon return from Stewart island.

I stayed at the Fovaux Hotel on my way to Stewart Island and also on the way back. The location of the hotel is practically across the road from the ferry terminal which made my trip easier. The Fovaux Hotel is also well situated close to the local four square, a few pubs and takeaway outlets within a few minutes walk.


The owners of the hotel, Mike and Pam were extremely welcoming, hospitable and were knowledgeable regarding the local area. Nothing was an issue and it felt like a home away from home.


The hotel was very comfortable and very clean. My room was great and the bed was extremely comfortable. Order the cooked breakfast the night before as it will set you up for the day.


Thank you Mike and Pam for a wonderful stay, the hotel wa an absolute gem. 

 I'll definitely be back again.

We had the balcony room which was fantastic and the owners Pam and Mike are super friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à l’hôtel Foveaux à Bluff ! L’établissement a un charme un peu rétro dans sa décoration, mais c’est justement ce qui le rend chaleureux et authentique. En plus, il est extrêmement pratique, confortable et impeccable, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable !

Le vrai point fort reste le personnel : une gentillesse incroyable du début à la fin. Toute l’équipe a été aux petits soins avec nous, toujours souriante et agréable à discuter. Ils nous ont même donné de très bons conseils pour la suite de notre roadtrip, ce que nous avons énormément apprécié.
Un grand merci pour votre accueil et votre bienveillance, nous garderons un très bon souvenir de notre passage à Bluff !

Es ist ein kleines sehr gemütliches Hotel in einem Original Art Deco Gebäude aus den 30er Jahren. Pam und Mike sind sehr herzliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Lovely place, clean and the owners were great to chat with. Mike and Pam were very helpful in making sure we were comfortable.
