Foveaux Hotel

They waited for us for a late check-in. They offered free parking while we were at Stewart island for 2 days. They kept our luggage. Fantastic!

Super sauberes Hotel, liebes Personal. Ein altes, etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel mit gemütlichen Sitzbereich und sogar einer kleinen Bar. Kaffee und Tee war immer gratis vorhanden.Inhaber erlaubte mir sogar das Auto stehen zu lassen für meinen Besuch von Steward Island.

It was pleasantly nice

Had originally booked another (more expensive) hotel in Bluff for the night before we took the ferry to Rakiura Stewart Island, but when I saw that a room had opened up here that wasn't when I originally booked the other place, I jumped on it and I am very glad I did. We loved the Art Deco design of the building and we were very comfortable in our room. It is also within walking distance of the ferry terminal, and several shops, including a supermarket (and there is a fridge for guests to put their cold things in back at the hotel). Pam and Mike are the kindest hosts - not only did they tell us about the local sights, but they also let us park our car in their carpark at no extra charge *and* they gave us a lift to the ferry. Upon our return, when Pam learned we had been seasick on a very rough ferry ride back to Bluff, she was so kind and made us ginger tea so we would feel better before setting off on the next leg of our journey. We are very glad we changed our booking to the Foveaux! We would totally stay here again.

Mike and Pam were great hosts with lots of local advice & information. After our boat trip was cancelled they were willing to change our reservation and also gave us separate rooms. The hotel is ideally located very close to the Shark Diving shop a few hundred meters away and Mike again was very accommodating with allowing us to leave our vehicle at the hotel car park, as parking is restricted on the street. Comfortable beds and great hot showers. Breakfast is available if pre booked, large widescreen TV in the communal lounge. Thank you 🙏 Mike and Pam for a great stay and all the very best 👍

Pam and Mike were lovely hosts! We were travelling to Stewart Island for two days after our stay and Mike and Pam let us park at the hotel - for no cost. Really appreciated!
