I paid for the room including A/C!
Pros:

The A/C system was not turned on during the night hours in my suite.
The engineer fixed the A/C before going to bed, but the system was turned off while I was asleep.

Very close to Shanghai main train station, excellent service from hotel staff. Really appreciate the great service hotel provided. Would go again if I have the chance.

Good location but aircon not working and not attended to after two requests.
Pros:

The hotel is well located - just a ten minute walk from a main railway station and shops and restaurants. Excellent for the NECC.

Staff were friendly and the hotel gym and pool were good too.

Breakfast was amazing with a great variety.

I found it good value.

Cons:

I have travelled extensively around the world over the past 30 years, and in that time, I have very rarely said that I would never return to a hotel... but here I do.

The aircon in the room did not work, and I reported it. Perhaps someone looked at it but the end result was no change. Sleeping at 25.5 C in a room without windows that open, was unbearable.

I complained a second time and again, no change. All I got was a standing fan and more water bottles.

A colleague had the same issue in their room. Same outcome, except as an asthmatic, his chest tightened and both of us had blocked noses.It can't be healthy blowing warm air around a room with no windows.

So for this reason alone, it's a no from me for a return visit.

Unbearably Hot Room
Pros:

Not the most interesting area of Shanghai, but convenient for Hongqiao Station and airport, with plenty of shops and restaurants in nearby shopping malls. The main problem was the air-conditioning, or lack of it. The temperature was centrally controlled by the hotel, so could not be adjusted. It reached 28°C outside during the day, and the room was extremely uncomfortable. They provided a fan, but could/would do nothing to allow us to change the room temperature. I don't need a hotel to choose which temperature is comfortable for me.

Great location for attending exhibitions at the NECC.
Pros:

This hotel is located on the “Honqiao Hub” with very easy walking access to Honqiao Airport, Train station, Subway station and also to the National Conventional Center. You can go walking to all of these places very easily. Very convenient location for people attending exhibitions at the NECC.
