In our room smell like mold. It wasn't clean. The cleaning service was superficial.
Absolument rien. Tout était parfait
The staff were exceptionally friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. They really tried their best to resolve our issue and went above and beyond by offering us complimentary breakfast and drinks, which we greatly appreciated. Their kindness and professionalism were truly the highlight of our experience.
The hotel grounds are also beautiful, with a particularly charming garden area full of greenery and lovely little tables, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. Breakfast exceeded our expectations: there was a wide variety of options, including hot dishes such as eggs, sausages, and beans (which is quite rare for a French breakfast), as well as fresh pastries, yogurts, fruits, cheeses, and high-quality cold cuts.
Unfortunately, we experienced a very disappointing issue with our room. We had specifically booked a particular spacious room in a separate building with garden access, but upon arrival, we were placed in a cave room instead. While the concept is certainly unique and visually interesting, the reality was far less enjoyable for us.
The cave room was much smaller than expected, quite dark, and overall not particularly comfortable — especially for guests who prioritize peace, quiet, and restful sleep. The biggest problem was the extreme noise level. Our room’s windows faced the indoor cave pool area, and the sound insulation was virtually nonexistent. Because of the cave acoustics, every sound echoed intensely. At 5 AM, I was awakened by someone swimming in the pool, and the noise was so overwhelming that going back to sleep was impossible. At 7 AM, more guests used the pool, and even normal conversations sounded as though they were happening directly beside our bed. To make matters worse, at 9 AM, renovation work began in a neighboring cave room.
Although the bathroom design was visually striking, it was not practical or particularly comfortable. Overall, the cave room may have been an interesting novelty for one night, but only if it had offered proper soundproofing. Without that, the experience became exhausting rather than special.
Final verdict:
While the hotel itself has charm, beautiful surroundings, and outstanding staff, our primary expectation from a hotel is quality rest and relaxation. Sadly, due to the room mismatch and severe noise issues, we left feeling exhausted rather than refreshed. For us, this significantly impacted the overall experience.
Sehr speziell in diesen Höhlen.
L acceuil et le site superbe. Déconnection parfaite pour un week-end.
