Horrible Conditions
Pros:

The place looks like a construction site, not a hotel, the staff was friendly and polite, but the conditions of hotels are terrible.

Dreadful place!
Pros:

Terrible place. No amenities, no restaurant, no access to the beach, room windows open onto a concrete wall. Small nondescript rooms. Just awful overall. Two excellent hotels are right up the street for almost the same price.

Great surprise
Pros:

Though under construction Sam and his crew were really great at making our stay an enjoyable one. The two bedroom apartment was the star of the show and we were amazed at the size and amenities it offered. I'm not sure when construction will be finished or what else they are building, but they're definitely working quickly to get it done.

It has potential
Pros:

The hotel is located in a nice, safe area, close to the ocean. There's a great view of the ocean from the dinning/ bar area. The manager is a great guy! Very helpful.

I stayed in a one bedroomed apartment. Great space, well furnished. The rooms were clean but the beddings, bathmats and kitchen utensils were not. Some of the pathways within the hotel are dark, wet, dingy and dirty. The breakfast chef handled food with his bare hands.

The hotel has great potential if they clean up!

Will be back here on my next trip!
Pros:

I came to Monrovia for business and looked up for a place where I can have guests.
I took a 2 bed rooms apartment in the hotel, and got much more than I expected.

Big living room with a 42-inch TV, Good and private Wi-Fi connection, the rooms are huge, balcony with a view to the sea, and a wonderful treatment from the crew and the manager.
Every issue or request we had was fulfilled in minutes.

Food is great with plenty of choices, and the prices are more than reasonable.

The sum up - will come back here on my next business trip.

Difference between asking for service and complaining
Pros:

Atlantis beach is a nice place with a B&R just on the beach but with no access on the beach. The service is ok if they like your face. The rooms does not reflect the price. The first day I was in the room it was flooded by rain, the non diplomatic answer of the management was that it was my fault coz I left the window open while I just arrived and did not find the window yet. Some days after the Internet was out in my room but they said it was only me complaining while three of my devices did not connect to the Internet. That is why I say while I ask for service the hotel says I complain. I don't recommend this hotel

Chilled out bar and restaurant
Pros:

The Atlantis Beach Hotel is a good place to go for food and drinks, with a nice upstairs bar and restaurant overlooking the beach and ocean, in the heart of Mamba Point. The staff are friendly and they have a nice relaxed bar area.

Great place with great people
Pros:

Every night, weekdays and weekend, you will find the owner tending bar and talking with guests of the hotel and patrons of the restaurant. If there is ever an unresolved issue, he takes care of it immediately and he's just a great guy to talk with. The restaurant serves food faster than anywhere in town and the wait staff actually pays attention which is unusual in Monrovia. It's also one of the few places in town where you are right on the beach and not across the street so being next to the ocean is great.

The rooms are nice also. Most have a couch, flat screen TV, AC, en-suite bathroom and constant power. The gym is more than enough. We put executives here and from visiting companies (mostly public) as they prefer the location, service and rooms.

Best way to go, for extended stay
Pros:

I stayed here for 9 weeks, enjoyed every minute. The owner (Sam) makes every effort to get things right, including even the occasional meal! All of the staff is super friendly (nod to Joshua, the bartender).

Forget the rest.
Pros:

I arrived in Liberia for a 5 week business stay. I was originally down to stay at the Cape but due to an admin error I ended up in the Alantis Beach Guesthouse. I was a little apprehensive to begin with as it looked a little tired from the outside. However, with no other choice availblee I bit the bullet and went for it. What a great place to stay. Sam, the hotel owner is the most friendly and hospitable person you'll ever meet as are the staf who work for him. Theres no shortage of expats also staying there so making new friends was a breeze. The food in the restaurant is amazing as was the view from the restaurant over the ocean. I can think of no better way to enjoy my breakfast before putting in a hard days work. I experienced no bugs or creepy crawlies of any kind in my room during my visit. The rooms are large and very clean. The wireless interent is about as good as it gets in Liberia and the flatscreen TV offered hundreds of channels and all with exceptional picture quality. The bathroom had a powerful shower that seems to have hot water availble no matter what time of the day or night. It also comes with a complimentary laundry service. In addition, theres a 24 hour gym that has eveything you need to keep in shape. All in all, a very pleasant experience. You can keep your Cape and Mamba Point hotels and all the pomp and ceremony that comes with them. I will not hesitate to stay at the Alantis Beach Guesthouse the next time I'm in Monrovia, Liberia.

Rats, Cockroaches, and busted toilets...Oh My!
Pros:

Yuck, yuck, yuck! I know there are not many choices, but this should not even be an option! Three of us went there, in one room the toilet blew up on its own and when they "cleaned it up" they left the nasty towels in the corner of the bathroom and filthy water in the tub, Another room had no linen on the bed, just a single sheet too small for the mattress and the last room had critters everywhere. Stay away, stay far away. In this one case alone, I am glad the airline lost my bags on the way home because I don't think my wife would let me in the house with a bag that stayed in this hotel!

Oh and did I mention it was expensive too! First they tried to DOUBLE charge me for my room and then they changed the price on me after we booked it.

Lastly, just becasue you are right on th beach, it doesn't mean you "want" to be on the beach. From the balcony, you could see people peeing and bathing right on the beach. It is a dirty beach, stay away!

If everything else is fully booked in Monrovia...
Pros:

We were in Monrovia for Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf's inauguration gala and all hotels were fully booked. Luckily, we received a cancelled room at the Atlantis. The advantage of this hotel is its location, in walking distance from the Mamba Point hotel (still Nr. 1 in town with best food) and the Cape Hotel (only proper pool in town). Another plus point of Atantis was the free laundry, free car wash and the very friendly service at management level. In the restaurant, the service was less friendly and the food not so good either. The view from the restaurant is interesting, however: barbed wire over high walls, with beautiful beach and blue surf behind. The rooms are air-conditioned and the TV has lots of channels. But the price of USD 150 is only achievable in cities like Monrovia or Freetown where there is such a major lack of international hotels.

Way too expensive - absolutely not worth it!
Pros:

I am chocked and amazed by the fact that this guest house charges 150 USD per night, which is exactly the same price as The Cape Hotel close by. The difference between the two is huge! The only reason I didn’t stay at The Cape, was because it was fully booked, and so was the Mamba Point.

Luckily I only had to stay one night, as I slept with my clothes on and used my jacket as a pillow. The pillows were rock hard and the bed linen and towel didn’t smell clean. When I came back for my luggage by lunch time the bed was made with the same linen and the towel was still there, even though they knew I was leaving.

More complaints: no soap in the bathroom, not much of a reception, really bad (although free) internet connection, no door to the big and very strange wardrobe, which made it feel like staying on a construction site... well I could go on forever, but I won’t. Instead I will say something positive.

The restaurant/bar by the sea is really fantastic. I love the view and the sound of the waves rolling onto the shore just below the open space facing the sea. The food is quite alright, even though the service is a bit slow.

I have seen that there is a few really good reviews of this place and I can imagine that they were written by people staying here for a little longer, who spends time in the bar with friends, getting to know the owner and staff. The atmosphere in the bar is really nice and if you get a better room than I did, perhaps with a sea view, you might actually get to like the place.

But I didn't like anything except the view from the restaurant during my short stay. I visited the restaurant and bar when I stayed at The Cape too. And that is the closest I will get to staying at the Atlantis again.

There's not a lot of choice...
Pros:

If I'd had more choice, I wouldn't have stayed here. It's a great location, right on the beach - but those in the hotel advise against going on that bit of beach. The municipality is trying to make the beach clean (you can see them at it every morning), but a lot of debris gets washed up there, and it can be used as a public toilet. In fact, one enterprising young man has set up a small business right below my hotel window: using a derelict roofless building with a makeshift door, he offered his customers privacy, toilet paper, an umbrella when it rained, and a sea-water flush when the business was done. I was impressed.

As for the hotel, it's over-priced for what it is, but that's because there's so little competition. Quite a few of the male guests there feel very comfortable, and are there long-term. As a single woman, I did not feel comfortable. Not that there was any overt hostility or harassment, just that it's essentially a very male environment. I kept to my room most of the time.

However, it's a secure environment, and within walking distance of the Mamba Point and Cape Hotels and a few other places if you fancy a change of scene.

Never, ever stay here
Pros:

What an awful place, zero value for money. Very unprofessional reception on arrival, a furtive check in a drawer about the confirmation and no information about meal times etc given. The bedroom was so so dark. The only window looked out on a corridor and a concrete wall on the other side of the passage. So there no was no natural daylight at any time, the one electrical light had to be on all the time - there was no bedside lamp only a ceiling light with one switch by the door. The bathroom was so small and badly designed that you had to squeeze past the loo to get to the shower. And the food was mediocre, most of it fried. Never again.

Never ever venture to book in this hotel !
Pros:

If you want to be sure that you have a room when you arrive-simpli do not book in Atlantis. We received a confirmation of our booking by e-mail, but when we arrived our names were not in the booking system. All other places were fully booked, we finally ended up sleeping in a horrible place in the city center, two colleagues sharing one small room ! From what we managed to see inside the Atlantis - unclean, shabby, disgusting and stinky. And all this for the same price as The Cape Hotel, which is a very nice place we stayed the first time ! Unbelievable ! And we have never ever received any apologies from the hotel owner with regard to the confusion in their reservation system, despite the fact that we asked twice for the reason why our booking had not been recorded properly. So, in a nutshell, booking in Atlantis means that you are running a risk of not getting your room and certainly it is very poor quality for the money ! Even in Monrovia one can find much better alternatives !
