Ideal place to stay especially when travelling with a dog. Lovely food, perfect breakfast & great walks from the front door!
One night. Wxcellent food
Hotel was nice and the bed was comfy. Conveniently located close to the Cairnryan port, making it perfect for an overnight stay before a day trip in Scotland.
Staff were AMAZING all around. Room was large, clean & comfortable. Food was delicious
We had a lovely 3 night stay whilst attending the nearby Oyster Festival. The hotel is perfectly located close to the town. The staff were just fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming. As for the hotel itself, it is a little dated, but some refurbishment work was underway during our stay. It was very clean too. As for the breakfast, it was just wonderful. All freshly cooked and served piping hot.
Great breakfast and great service from both reception staff and the breakfast staff however the state of the room I stayed in was definitely not worth £120 a night. The bed was comfortable but the room felt very outdated and a little grubby because of the condition.
The staff are very nice, but the hotel needs work done on the decor.
Stayed for one night on the way to N Ireland. The hotel is very dated, the room was however clean. Could hear other guests, conversations through the wall.
Very nice and quiet. Sadly only there for the night
Stayed for one night. The meals we had in the restaurant were very disappointing to such an extent that we had to complain. The outcome was that we were not charged for the two meals. The room we had was spacious & comfortable if not some what dated. We will not be returning,
Interesting building resembling a castle located right on the harbour front. Petrol station and supermarket nearby.
The reception staff were friendly, and the bar and restaurant staff were the right level of attentive.
I didn't have chance to use the gym or pool.
Great hotel in the centre of Stranraer. Large room and bathroom very comfy bed and pillows. Excellent customer service from all staff. Good cooked breakfast. The only negative I would offer is that the bedroom was too hot.
Lovely comfortable hotel. Rooms are quite dated however very clean and comfortable. The friendliness of the staff was the highlight of our trip, alongside a fantastic fry up with good quality ingredients. Thanks for a lovely stay, we will remember our swimming costumes next time to use the facilities!
Ample parking on site. Nice clean comfy rooms. Handy for the ferry to Belfast.
Hotel a little tired in areas but understand refurb is ongoing.
Meals and Bar snacks were good.
Swimming pool,Hot tub and sauna were added attractions.
Overall good value for money.
Traditional but a little quirky. Staff so friendly and helpful.
Smell of damp hits you the second you go through the front doors.
The family suites was a weird corridor like room with 4 single beds in it.
Water damaged hard wood furniture that looks like it was salvaged from a chairty shop.
A bathroom that made sense in your grandmothers council house. And im general everything from the in room phones to the elevator look like they were "modern" in 1972
We enjoyed our stay @ the hotel. However on a personal basis a bigger bed would have been appreciated. The breakfast was excellent, food well cooked with a good variety.
Hotel is old but clean and renovation is taking place. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had an evening meal at the restaurant and although we read some poor reviews, the food we had was really nice and we have no complaint to make. Thank you North Castle & staff.
Good all round service and help, good facilities and location of the hotel.
