Lovely hotel in a prefect location
Pros:

We had a lovely 3 night stay whilst attending the nearby Oyster Festival. The hotel is perfectly located close to the town. The staff were just fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming. As for the hotel itself, it is a little dated, but some refurbishment work was underway during our stay. It was very clean too. As for the breakfast, it was just wonderful. All freshly cooked and served piping hot.

Okay but not worth the £120
Pros:

Great breakfast and great service from both reception staff and the breakfast staff however the state of the room I stayed in was definitely not worth £120 a night. The bed was comfortable but the room felt very outdated and a little grubby because of the condition.

Pros:

Stayed for one night on the way to N Ireland. The hotel is very dated, the room was however clean. Could hear other guests, conversations through the wall.

One Night Stay
Pros:

Stayed for one night. The meals we had in the restaurant were very disappointing to such an extent that we had to complain. The outcome was that we were not charged for the two meals. The room we had was spacious & comfortable if not some what dated. We will not be returning,

Unusual building in a good location
Pros:

Interesting building resembling a castle located right on the harbour front. Petrol station and supermarket nearby.
The reception staff were friendly, and the bar and restaurant staff were the right level of attentive.
I didn't have chance to use the gym or pool.

Good 3 star hotel with excellent service
Pros:

Great hotel in the centre of Stranraer. Large room and bathroom very comfy bed and pillows. Excellent customer service from all staff. Good cooked breakfast. The only negative I would offer is that the bedroom was too hot.

Terrible rooms, just don't
Pros:

Smell of damp hits you the second you go through the front doors.

The family suites was a weird corridor like room with 4 single beds in it.

Water damaged hard wood furniture that looks like it was salvaged from a chairty shop.

A bathroom that made sense in your grandmothers council house. And im general everything from the in room phones to the elevator look like they were "modern" in 1972

One Night Stay
Pros:

We enjoyed our stay @ the hotel. However on a personal basis a bigger bed would have been appreciated. The breakfast was excellent, food well cooked with a good variety.

North West Castle Hotel
Pros:

Hotel is old but clean and renovation is taking place. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had an evening meal at the restaurant and although we read some poor reviews, the food we had was really nice and we have no complaint to make. Thank you North Castle & staff.
