Hotel Boutique La Merced

My travel companion and I had separate rooms for the same price. Mine was large, had windows opening up onto the back garden, and had wifi. My friend's was small, the windows opened up to a wall and she had no wifi. There was only cold water for 4 of 7 days. Walls are paper thin, so snoring neighbours sleep with you. The worst of everything, there was no staff between 12-4. They gave us a key for the outer security door and the key didn't work. Returning before 4 the first day, we were forced to sit on the curb of a busy street for hours until someone could let us in. The Expedia site says the front desk has a receptionist 24 hours a day, who speaks English. No to both. You MUST speak Spanish if you stay here. Visually it is a clean place, and the housekeeper does her best, but she leaves at noon. The maintenance man arrives at 4 and sleeps overnight in a basement room. Breakfast varies between eggs or pancakes which is supplied. This hotel is a hard call. If you can deal with cold water showers, no access during the day, and being a long walk from town, then go for it. If you expect warm showers, 24 hour desk staff, and being close to town, forget it. It is not expensive, so it would suffice for those on a budget.

We had 3 days with cold showers. My room, 4, didn’t have cable and the WiFi didn’t work. There was no one manning the front desk on the last 5 days of the trip. They gave us a key so we could let ourselves in to the hotel bit it didn’t work. One day we had to wait for an hour outside before an employee came back to let us in. The lack of front desk service was unconscionable.

Siento que es más una casa hecha hotel, que no ha sido adaptada tan bien, se oye todo el ruido del pasillo, hay instalaciones mal hechas en los baños y están rotos los inodoros y solo los han arreglado con tirro

Quarto amplo, mas não dispõe sequer de uma mesa para se trabalhar. Localização longe da praça principal e não tão próximo de locais para comer. Sem infraestrutura para refeições. Internet lenta. Cobram uma taxa de conversão do dólar para pagamento em moeda local (quetzal) ou em cartão mais de 10% desfavorável em comparação à taxa de cambio corrente, forçando-o a pagar em US$ cash.

街の中心から少しだけ離れたところにあるため、静かでよく眠れました。
天井が高かったので部屋が広く感じましたが、その割には電気が小さくて暗かったです。また洗面台の電気がひとつとクローゼットの電気もつきませんでした。
フルーツとパンケーキの朝食は美味しかったです。
スタッフの方はフレンドリーでした。

Lindo hostel, a poucas quadras do famoso Arco de Santa Catalina, no geral o hotel é bem bonito, lembra muito uma antiga casa colonial! Os funcionários foram ótimos e solícitos! Valeu muito a pena!

Solamente tener mas variedad desayunos, solo hay un menu.

El hotel es hermoso. Nuestra habitación tenía una vista hermosa del volcán. El trato excelente. Siempre nos atendieron nuestras consultas y nos dieron recomendaciones acertadas de restaurantes o lugares que visitar. Ademas su ubicación muy buena. Cerca de restaurantes y la iglesia de la merced.

Terrible, although facilities are nice, this place does not operates as a hotel, the person who was at the reception was never present, always away... the hotel has no parking but they recommended one and gave us the wrong information and we ended paying double...
At check out time again there was nobody at reception... terrible

El hotel en general, la habitación, el personal, la ubicación, el precio, el desayuno, todo estuvo perfecto, no tengo queja alguna. Recomendado 100 %
