Staff very friendly and breakfast very good
The small double was close to the kitchen extractor fan on the outside wall, and this started at 7am most mornings
Good-sized room overlooking the street, with all expected amenities.
Nice to have a fan in the room.
Good breakfast with nice hot options.
Free parking behind the Inn.
Some traffic noise, but there was an inner sound-proofing window (room 4), so no problem overnight.
Lovely clean, quaint building
Location, cleanliness, appearance, facilities, courtyard at the back.
Everything was great.
Great breakfast! And great location right in the centre of Knutsford.
Rooms were very hot and the shower pressure was very poor.
Staff , venue , area all good , smiley people .

Kind and provided a fan
Room and food
I requested an early check in but this information was not available on arrival. We were attending a wedding and needed to check in earlier to get changed.
First of all the plus points - we came to stay for a wedding locally, private car park at the back is very handy, and the location in Knutsford is great. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to our room and offered to carry any of our bags. The room was clean and the bed very comfy.
Negatives - if you have mobility problems, do not book here. It’s an old pub with narrow steep stairs up to the rooms. The room was stifling hot, again it’s an old building so no air con & we had to make do with a small fan in the room which barely made a difference on one of the hottest days of the year (obviously out of control of the pub!) and as we overlooked the beer garden we had the lovely aroma of cigarette smoke etc if we had the windows open. The bathroom was clean but dated. The shower pressure was virtually non existent. Breakfast was ok, but was bog standard sliced white bread and not the sourdough advertised and no crème fraiche with the smoked salmon.
Overall it was pleasant (and the heat obviously couldn’t be helped) but overall I expected more for the price
Location and staff were amazing
Breakfast was awful
It was 37C when we arrived and the lady on reception immediately provided iced drinks and the fan worked - we're not used to such heat in Scotland. A tasty and delightful meal in a cool old part of the 17th century hotel and good local craft ale for me and cool Spanish Lager for Kathy were beautifully presented by attentive waitress. We didn't explore Knutsford as much as we had planned as even after the meal it was hot. A great breakfast in the same place and lots of help from very helpful staff. We had a crisis. My wife lost her Apple watch I had just bought her as a birthday present. We searched high and low. The staff helped and promised to do more as they cleaned room and dining area. We emptied every case and bag twice. Great relief - this morning it revealed itself attached to a Velcro strap in her sandals!
the heat wave which the hotel did everything possible to help us with
Excellent
Very good staff, friendly and efficient, if you want something just ask!
Room and bathroom was spacious, clean and plenty of toiletries, drinking water etc. even Haribos😁 Good furniture and comfortable bed.
Excellent breakfast
Lovely pub🍻
The windows are very old as to be expected so they don't block any noise from the town/road, the secondary glazing didn't help so we were woken by the England goals😁and early morning delivery but we did get enough sleep and at least kept up with the score!
We both loved the rose and crown, lovely staff, very clean, and a beautiful breakfast.
Nothing
Best breakfast ever , great staff , special mention to Jess who went above and beyond , even helping us with our luggage to the car , location great too , we've already booked again for next year .thanks again
