Pros:

From the moment I arrived at Ruma Roda, I felt completely at home thanks to the warm, loving family and wonderful staff who run this place. Their kindness and genuine hospitality make you feel more like a welcomed guest than a customer.

The location is absolutely perfect. It is right in the heart of the city, yet surprisingly peaceful and quiet. Despite being so central, you don’t hear the noise from outside, making it a wonderful place to relax after a busy day exploring.

The layout of the property is charming and cozy, with a lovely swimming pool that creates a calm and inviting atmosphere. Everything feels intimate, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed.

And I have to mention the breakfast: the banana pancakes were quite simply the best I have ever had. They were absolutely delicious and became one of the highlights of my stay.

If you are looking for a place with a great location, a peaceful atmosphere, and genuinely caring people, I highly recommend Ruma Roda. It is one of those special places that makes you feel at home from the very first moment.

Pros:

Love the location, its walking distance to Ubud Art Market, Ubud Palace, Cafe Lotus. Love the Family room with the kitchenette that allow us having warm drink in the middle of the night. the bathroom needs a bit renovation but overall good. love the tiny swimming pool, the 2 friendly dogs, friendly owners. will come back someday.

Cons:

they need to do some work in the water waste of the bathroom, and the door is hard to close.

Wonderful staff and a great value in Ubud.
Pros:

The room was spacious with 2 large beds. The beds were clean and comfortable. The AC works great once you let it run for a while. Initially it was hot in the room but it was only because the AC was off when we arrived. Breakfast was good. They start each person with a plate of fruit. On the menu they have french toast, pancakes, nasi goreng and a few other items. The pool is excellent and gets plenty of shade mid day. It was a wonderful break from the heat.

The staff are kind and very helpful. When we arrived the car had to park at the central seweta parking lot which is a bit of a walk to the homestay. 2 staff members carried our luggage all the way to our room from there.

Ardi is the owner. He is very kind, and visited with us at the pool. He told us about living in Bali and his family history running the homestay.

Cons:

The doors use padlocks instead of a standard knob and deadbolt. Anywhere else in the world, I would was moved because of this, but the family lives onsite and I felt very safe. There is no safe in the room.

Perfect location and truly meaningful hospitality 💛
Pros:

Rumah Roda is ideally located right on one of the main streets of Ubud — a perfect base to explore the area.
What made my stay special were the hosts. The owner is a cultured and thoughtful gentleman, and I had the pleasure of sharing long and meaningful conversations with him. The whole family is warm, respectful, and always willing to help.
The room is spacious, with a very comfortable bed, and the breakfast offers a good variety of options.
I highly recommend it for its location and the genuine human connection you can experience here.

If I were to summarise my experience in three words: disappointing, unhygienic, and uninhabitable.

The bathroom was in extremely poor condition, with visible mould, insects, and a general lack of cleanliness. The overall property did not reflect the images on Booking.com, which created a misleading expectation. The swimming pool appeared unclean, and the kitchen utensils were not in a usable condition.

Due to these issues, we were unable to continue our stay and checked out the following morning with assistance from the Booking.com support team, despite having booked for four nights.

Breakfast was NOT good either. Most of us left the Juice seeing that they used the rotten fruit.

I would strongly recommend that the owner undertake significant renovations and improve maintenance standards to meet basic accommodation expectations.

We komen hier al 46 jaar. Roda, vader van de huidige eigenaar Darta is met het losmen gestart Een groot familie project. Vriendelijk, gastvrij. Mooi gelegen in het centrum. Een aanrader dus. De oorspronkelijke fan koeling is recent ac geworden. Wel lekker.

Nice homestay in the heart of Ubud
Pros:

A nice homestay with an authentic look and feel and nice welcoming family.

Breakfast was nice, options to buy extra food were only 1 euro. They have a cheap restaurant at the permasis, where one can eat good lunch and dinner.

Location was great, close to everything.

Low water pressure.

This is an authentic home stay place with a great family hosting you.
If you like the Bali old style, you get a great place where for relatively low rates you find a really nice place with a lot of charme.
The breakfast place o the first floor overlooking the shopping street below has a great atmosphere.
