Sappraiwan Elephant Resort & Sanctuary

เนื่องจากเป็น รร.ที่เก่าแก่และมีพื้นที่กว้างใหญ่มาก เราจึงไม่ได้คาดหวังถึงความทันสมัยหรูหรา คิดว่าเจ้าของและพนักงานทุกคนคงทำด้วยใจรักและหวังปกป้องสิ่งแวดล้อมให้ได้ยาวนานที่สุด ผืนป่าและต้นไม้ได้รับการดูแลอย่างดีและมีทิวทัศน์ที่สวยงามสงบมาก ช้างก็น่ารักเรียบร้อยเป็นที่สุด สระว่ายน้ำสวยอ่านโบรชัวร์บอกว่าเป็นสระน้ำเกลือซะด้วยถึงว่าเค็มๆ แต่จนท.คนนึงบอกว่าสระคลอรีน เสียดายอยู่ 2-3 อย่างคือ ยังไม่ได้ล่องแก่งลำน้ำเข็ก /ในห้องไม่มียาสีฟันให้ และ ปลอกหมอนมีกลิ่นอับ ไม่แน่ใจว่าด้วยกลิ่นผงซักฟอกหรืออย่างไร คงต้องปรับปรุงอีกหน่อยนะคะ

Restaurant service and food was terrible. The worst food we had in ages.

Room was very dirty, full of insects esp. ants and spider webs
Bed sheet were not clean
Bathroom was infected by mold
Room had stunk of high humidity
Door lock was broken !!

Terrible place

Nous sommes arrivés dans un hôtel fantôme. Personne durant toute notre séjour. On nous donne d'abord une chambre simple qui ne correspondait pas à notre réservation. Après des explications laborieuses car le personnel ne parle pas anglais, on nous donne finalement notre suite Deluxe réservée. Une fois arrivés dans la chambre, nous comprenons vite la raison de cette méprise. Une forte odeur d'humidité, de la moisissure sur les murs, des pantoufles déjà utilisées et humides...nous demandons de parler au directeur qui nous propose un déclassement en chalet car les suites n'étaient plus disponibles car l'hôtel était en rénovation. Un hôtel de plus de 20 ans qui n'a jamais été rénové. Malgré la gentillesse du directeur, on ne peut oublier une absence de service, pas de buffet du petit déjeuner car on nous dit qu'il n'y a que nous dans l'hôtel. Une fois rénové peut être mais nous n'y retournerons pas.

Stayed here two nights in April '18. One on the way to Chiang Rai and one on the way back. Overall I was pleased with the place. What a magnificent hotel this must have been 20 years ago! Even today it is still sufficiently cared for. If you are spoiled and unappreciative don't go here as you will not appreciate it. If you are an explorer at heart, please do stop by.

This is an amazing hotel. Truly one of a kind. But first the bad, Wi-Fi isn't in all the rooms, breakfast isn't "wow" and it is in the middle of no where. The pool is not deep, so do not expect that. Ok that out of the way, there are 13 elephants that live on this property. With a new care taker (David, ask the front desk about him. Speaks Thai and fluent English. ) leading the way, the elephants are no longer being ridden or fed by tourist. That doesn't stop you from having David guide you down to the elephants (1 caretaker per) where all that is between you is their personal caretaker. So you are not shocked, they do have a chain around their neck, about 20 meters long for night time. The caretakers need to sleep and you can't have guest getting between a baby elephant and the mom. That could be deadly. Ok the area, again you are in the middle of no where but there are many waterfalls and temples. Other than that, this hotel is quite, BIG and one of a kind. Book it now! My pictures will show the chains, but trust me, these elephants go just about anywhere on this massive property that they want.

I loved my stay at this resort. It’s a beautiful unique location. Yes the weekend was a bit busy and loud due to the corporate event.

The most thing to do is the walk with elephants. The sanctuary team has been doing a great work which in transition, ie reinforcing elephants to live in their natural way, and not to be used for entertainment such as riding/dancing etc. Great work, team mahuats and David. Loved spending my every single minute at this place. Hope to visit again in 2019.

The resort is kind of old, but properly maintained. The entrance is right on the main road, but the buildings are a distance from the msin entrance. The room is large and quiet and need additional transportation by the facility to reach. Not much sceney view. Just good for relax.

Nice stay, friendly staff. Maintenance ongoing and needed but great location and room ok.
