We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, allowing us to get a quiet and restful night's sleep. The breakfast was wonderful, with a wide variety of food, sides, and sweets to choose from. If we visit Charleston again, we would definitely stay here.
Everything was great.
Location
Bed was terrible. Understaffed hotel charging premium prices.
Great location, clean, comfortable.

VALET
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I dealt with primarily one gentleman the entire time I was there and one other. The older gentleman mentioned he was working 12+ hour days and that they even called him in on his day off. The valet seem to be mistreated here and not rewarded for their efforts. More should go into respecting them. Each person I dealt with took very good care of my truck when parking and retrieving my truck. Always quick and efficient.
Entering the drop off area for an oversized vehicle as my truck (3” lift, full size) is tight. Be cautious when entering the area.
FRONT DESK STAFF
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Never have I been treated with what felt like disrespect when arriving at a hotel. The front desk person repeatedly asked if I did a digital check-in and repeatedly I replied no. The front desk person than indicated that they had to check and validate the room prior to checking me into the hotel. She went off and did so, I guess. Came back, and still would not directly check me into my room. When she was ready for me to pay, she stood over my shoulder to validate that my payment was approved.
I have never before been treated like this on arrival of a hotel. Absolutely a horrible experience and the main reason, I will never stay at this hotel again.
The rest of the time, I did not interact with the front desk staff other than to pay for a few items and they were okay.
ROOM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Room was clean and looked good; however, is horribly laid out.
AC worked very well. Curtains operated well.
The desk to work was behind the TV in the kitchen area. No easy way to watch TV while working at the desk. The positive, is that the desk was on wheels, so I was able to roll it out to watch TV.
Only one side did have a wireless charging, 2 USB ports and 2 outlets station to connect my CPAP and Phone Charger. The wireless station allowed me to charge 2 phones at one time. This room is not designed for a couple at all.
Pillows absolutely awful; however, this is the same for every hotel. Pillows provide no firmness, and if you lay your head down then it goes right to the bed. To soft and feathery.
Couch okay.
The space between the bed and the dresser was extremely narrow. I hit my hips on there the dresser multiple times navigating between the room and the bathroom.
Bed was comfortable.
Extremely low amount of any good channels on TV.
BATHROOM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clean and Presentable.
Plenty of towel hooks for multiple people to hang towels.
No slip mat; however, drain was in the middle of the floor.
Extremely low water pressure; especially in the sink. The EXTREMELY low water pressure in the sink made it very complicated to do anything at the sink.
One sink, low counter space to put items. If this was a couple staying in this room, there would be not enough counter space.
Shower head very good height; just low water pressure.
Hot water was good.
Toilet was a good height, no soft close lid though
Ashely took care of me as if I were family. The customer service in this place is obviously among the best I’ve experienced. Thank you, Ashely
Our stay at Homeood suites was fantastic 👏
Ashley, Alba to name a couple of the front desk staff were great!
So professional, happy to help and service excellence for our entire stay.
We took a mid week trip (Mon-Thur) and we paid $1,724 all in. We found out that a conference had come into town and stayed at the hotel the week we were, and they had price gouged us for $580 for Tues and $465 on Wed. This is not an almost $600 a night hotel. We could have stayed at Hotel Bennett (a much nicer hotel) for these prices. Also, they are supposedly pet friendly but the only patch of grass is under their parking garage full of gravel and dirt. Our room wasn’t cleaned one single time the whole stay. No new towels, no coffee restock, notta. We were told by front desk at check in that continental breakfast was to 10am. We get downstairs at 9:35 and the lady working the breakfast told us it ended at 9:30a. It’s also towards the end/middle of king st. Not centrally located if you’re looking to do touristy things. It’s a 1.5mile walk to any tours, etc. All in all, I would never come back to this hotel. You can get a much nicer hotel for the same price. This is a mid level hotel at best.
We recently stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Historic District for a business meeting, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly suited for a productive work trip.
Every member of the staff truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay and meetings ran smoothly. A special thank‑you to Abby Thomas, who was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the planning process—responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful every step of the way. Geraldine and Ben were also exceptional and made sure every detail was handled with care and a positive attitude.
The front desk team deserves special recognition as well. They were welcoming, attentive, and always willing to help, which made a big difference during a busy schedule.
Our entire group had a fantastic experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return for future business events or stays. Highly recommend this hotel, its and it's amazing staff!
My wife and I recently stayed at this property for 4 nights, and experienced some of the best customer service we’ve ever had at a hotel! Maddie and Ray at the bar were very welcoming and informative, and really made us feel like family. Alba at the front desk was very professional and courteous. But our biggest shoutout goes to Ashley at the front desk, who bent over backwards to accommodate our very unorthodox reservations situation!
The suite itself was very clean, spacious, and comfortable.
We plan to return, and will tell our family and friends about our wonderful experience there!
Location to King St was excellent, the staff at breakfast were very nice. Lots of breakfast options. The room was very spacious and clean.
Some of the reception staff seemed a little bored at times and weren’t the most friendly. Overall Dave and Claudia were excellent though!
Stayed for a week while visiting Charleston for pleasure. (Disclaimer: I paid with points as a frequent traveler.)
Pros
Great location. No need for a car, walking distance to several of the free city bus lines or <$10 Uber to all the popular sights/restaurants around the city. There is no where to park in the city anyway. The hotel charges $39/night to park.
Rooms are clean and have daily housekeeping available.
Breakfast is included. (Many hotels are slowly dropping breakfast recently)
Fast elevators.
Cons
Pillows are like sacks of cement. Maybe a personal thing, but both my wife and I hated them. Mattress was comfortable.
Evening reception was an embarrassment to the hotel. Two six by twelve inch boards of 50% broccoli, some salami , cheder cheese and bagel chips. The amount was about what I would put out for a party of four at home. The boards were empty within fifteen minutes and we never saw them refilled.
Overall a good stay considering you are in a popular city.
