Pleasant stay

If it wasn’t for our event we wouldn’t have chose this hotel

We booked this hotel due to a event taking place in Chennai. Needed the rooms for 11-12days paid in advance 50%. Only booked because of Treebo Ambar palace we previously stayed in and really loved their services and rooms and all were quite clean being quite good for the price. But, this one here was a total rip off, we booked via booking.com looking at the pictures but the reality was far away from those pictures. We booked for 2 families, due to flight cancellation we reached one day late, though we had paid for the room, we were hoping even though we are one day late the room will be ready for us as soon as we get there. But, after arriving we were asked to stay in a different room until 11am as our initial room was given to another guest since we did not arrive. Hotel was non refundable so they did not even refund the one night charges, plus resold the room and earned from that too. We didn’t say much. Booking.com said breakfast in room is available when we kept asking we were denied was this until we showed proof and fought for it. Due to the chef not coming 5-6days same breakfast tray every single day was ordered from outside. No variety or change at all. There was dust everywhere in the room, bedsheets were torn, pillows smells and were in bad condition. Bathroom was another disaster. The sink would block the shower area would block felt like we taking shower in flood. Due to our event they increased their cost 60-70% from their usual day rate. On our day of checkout we requested if we could checkout late from 1 room just so we could keep our bags as our flights were in the evening and we were going out during the day and just wanted to come back freshen up and leave. The owner said don’t worry you checkout now and when you come back il give you a room to freshen up. He even made us clear the remaining balance which we did.
