Excellent mix of nature and luxury. Amazing host! Superb, central location!
Pros:

Excellent mix of home stay, farm stay and luxury. Large room, green all around, trees cover all windows, balcony, open huge bathroom. Pool was right under clear skies and tree covering all around. Ever responsive host (Shantha), with ultra high service standards. Whatever we wished for, he made it available within mins. We went for Sinharaja hike early morning, and he helped us with tea at 5:15am and amazing packed sandwiches for the trek!
Also, the location is so amazing. 10 mins from Jungle Beach and Galle fort, 1hr from Kanneliya Rainforest and 2hr from Sinharaja rainforest!

Cons:

Monkeys - They arent agressive at all, infact they hide and were barely visible. But if you take the top most room, they do jump around the roof early morning (5am), thus creating a bit of sound. We are early wakers, so not much of hassle. If you sleep till late, dont take the top most room.

Amazing stay!
Pros:

A wonderful stay at Ceylon Olive. The room and bathroom were stunning, clean and spacious with a lovely terrace to sit out for breakfast with the monkeys!

The team were helpful and attentive, always on hand to provide us a tuk tuk to and from the local areas.

I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone looking to visit Galle / Unuwatuna.

I felt the photos were definitely deceptive.
For instance, the room was so dark you had to have the lights on.
Secondly, the family room we had, the beds were very close to each other and one of the beds like a trundle, also very thin mattresses on the singles.
Queen bed mattress also soft.
Outdoor bathroom wasn't nice at all, shower head looked rusty.
We immediately started to look for accommodation elsewhere.
Reading the reviews I was confused that no one else said anything about these issues.
I'm not a complainer or whinger or precious by the way, however I feel these issues should be taken into consideration before booking.
We paid $540 to be released from our booking.
Whilst this was not what we wanted to do, we felt we had no choice as we were very unhappy.
Booking.com has yet to reply to my email.

Property cancelled one of our rooms without me confirming

Cons:

we booked 2 rooms as 2 families, the property decided to cancel one of our rooms assuming that I duplicated the booking..bit we needed two rooms, as ee were 8 people (each family had 2 kids), i was surpised they did thst wothout my consent.

Geweldig!!
Pros:

Alles wat fantastisch! Super schoon, goed onderhouden. Maar wat ons het meeste is bevallen, is het personeel! Stond altijd voor ons klaar en waren zo lief voor ons zoontje van 2 jaar. Spelen en voetballen met hem en hij was zo blij om daar te zijn!

Only a short tuk tuk ride away from Galle.
The property was nice and peaceful. Pool was great.
We only stayed 1 short night but loved our stay there!

Heaven!!!
Pros:

Absolutely the best place to stay I did two weeks in the Olive Bungalow surrounded by a tropical garden. As a solo you never know if you are going to be crammed in somewhere but just the opposite. Spacious with an excellent breakfast every day. Kumudu and his team were so supportive. Tuk tuk on hand whenever I needed. Info about places to go. A great base to travel around the south and then come back to tranquility. I almost don’t want to share this because it’s so special. People arrive and go off elsewhere in their journey of discovery of Sri Lanka. One or two nights stay is fine but to really discover ‘heaven’ stay a little longer. It’s so worth it. Wir hatten einen rundum wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem charmanten, kleinen Hotel – ein echtes Hidden Gem. Schon beim Check-in wurden wir herzlich empfangen, und der Service war während des gesamten Aufenthalts aufmerksam, professionell und ausgesprochen freundlich.

Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, modern und komfortabel eingerichtet. Besonders die ruhige Atmosphäre hat unseren Aufenthalt zu einer echten Erholung gemacht. Das Frühstück war frisch, abwechslungsreich und liebevoll zubereitet.

Ein ganz besonderes Dankeschön gilt Era, dem Hausmeister der Anlage. Sein TukTuk-Service war unbezahlbar – er hat uns überall hingebracht und jederzeit zuverlässig wieder abgeholt. So viel Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft erlebt man nicht überall.

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!

Perfect and comfortable hideaway for visiting Galle!
Pros:

This family-run small hotel is a little gem & a perfect choice for visiting Galle.
We stayed two nights in the Olive room, up in the trees with private balcony (where breakfadt is served). The green garden and the small pool are perfect to relax. WiFi works well.
Most importantly, Kumudu is a perfect host! His staff will take you to Galle Fort and pick you up again by Tuktuk; it’s just an 8 minute ride.

Excellent retreat
Pros:

Wonderful, stylish place to relax just outside of Galle.
Owner and staff so helpful, will provide tuktuk to/from Fort.
