Very friendly staff, very clean and organised.
Staff would go above and beyond for you
It's an interesting cross between a homestay and a resort. The beautiful welcoming staff made it a memorable stay in spite of the rough by western standards facilities. I'd go back!
This is a place with true feeling. You get a real sense of being part of a Fijian family. Loved the beautiful singing to accompany a good variety of meals. Although old, the bures are spacious with lots of natural light and are progressively being renovated. We enjoyed relaxing, snorkeling and walking around the area. We would go back.
We absolutely loved our stay at Naqalia Lodge. The entire staff instantly made you feel welcome and cared for. Meals are lovingly prepared and the food is plentiful. The island is beautiful with great snorkeling out front and hiking nearby. We would absolutely come again.
I asked ChatGPT to suggest a non resort, run by a village in the Yasawa Islands. Top choice. I had such a special experience. Beautiful people.
The best 5 days of my life. Originally booked for 3 nights but had to extend my stay because I didn’t want to leave. They truly welcome you into their family and make your experience an unforgettable one. Made some real deep connections with the staff and other guests that I’ll never forget. Truly a magical place.
This eco-resort is perfect for a relaxing break on a secluded beach. We stayed in a spacious beachfront bungalow for 4 nights. The staff are so friendly and accommodating! You can choose to do a multitude of activities and the staff are happy to take you. All of the meals are freshly cooked and are so delicious! We experienced a kava ceremony and a traditional dinner cooked in a lovo oven. I recommend this resort for adventurous adults who want to experience true Fijian culture and life. Come as guests, leave as family!
Beautiful place, beautiful people, and the best food! Felt like part of the family from the moment we arrived. You can’t go wrong booking here.
This is our third visit to Nacalia Lodge. it is special because of the friendly accommodating staff and real Fijian culture, Its safe and child friendly, really plentiful and good food, the best we had in the Yasawas, lots of activities, plenty of laughing and singing and great coral snorkelling off the beach
The manager Akoo, will help with anything, he took us to the beautiful spit beach between the islands where the coral garden is magnificent, and provided a great picnic. You can arrange to swim with the sharks or you can simple relax and enjoy the beach. We will come again.
Stunning location. Beautiful house reef for snorkelling.
Not a 5 star resort but very friendly family environment.
Food was good and plentiful and accommodated vegan and vegetarian needs.
Wish we had stayed longer.
Very friendly people, make you feel very welcome, beautiful beach and snorkeling. Amazing and loads of food
Really friendly and caring staff. They could provide a good array of activities on request. Really good food on offer too. Beautiful location to watch the beach from a hammock. Spotty roaming wifi connection but still able to connect to internet. Minor issues with the power occassionally cutting out at the lodges. More stable power available in the dining hall.
We have left a piece of our heart at Naqalia Lodge and at the Yasawa Island. The staff and Management at Naqalia went above and beyond to make our stay nothing short of amazing and they were always smiling and happy to help. We stayed in the garden Bure, a traditional Fijian house, which was a pretty authentic experience of the life on the island. The food was home cooked, traditional and always in very generous portions. We sat at the table with the other guests and were a "family -like" meal times while the staff and management was playing guitar and singing songs for us.
The lodge is on the beach surrounded by nature at the feet of a mountain, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the other island when you wake up with the sounds of chicken and roosters roaming around the Bure. The coral reefs just off the beach are SPECTACULAR, we could see many tropical fish of every colour, size and shape. It definitely was one of the best snorkeling spots that we have been to. The lodge offers also paid activities such as shark feeding, fishing and village visit. We spent 4 days there but we really wished we could stay more. Vinaka.
1/10. Fake reviews online. Fake website photos. Villas were atrocious: bathrooms were disgusting with broken toilets, broken shower and basin, basically unusable. Activities were overpriced and didnt deliver what they said. NO snorkelling. Food was basically inedible and way over priced. Dont go!
Wow! Amazing! Aka, Oni, Sia and Manu were amazing! I was fresh off the boat when I arrived here and they got me to Fiji time quickly! The most stressful part of the trip was choosing which hammock. Thank you for a great experience!!
What a magic place in the world. Naqalia Lodge might be the best place I ever stayed and God knows I have been traveling! It is not a 5 star hotel and the accommodations are very simple but you have everything you need. Sleeping with the wind on your face and the sound of waves, mosquitoes nets everywhere for you to be well. This I will miss a lot. Showers are cold but you don’t really need hot showers as the temperature is quite warm even in the evenings.
The spot in itself is for everyone else that stayed here while I was there including me, the best snorkeling spot we’ve seen so far with the most amazing plate corals with all types of colors. Incredible!
The activities are great between fishing, hiking (steep climbs!), going to the village is also a must to meet the children. You never get bored and have time to relax during your day and snorkel all day!
The meal plan is perfect, you are never hungry and the food is good. Breakfast is the best!!
And finally, the kindness, the continuous efforts of the team to make you happy, to make you feel at home but also to get to know you and share their history and culture with you. Oni, Sia, Aku, Manu, Mana, Toui a very big THANK YOU. I will remember your kindness and generosity forever!
Pluses: great staff, lovely family run authentic resort who thank you for coming and play guitar and sing thru every dinner. There's a reef in front of the lodge with the most diverse corals I've ever seen- snorkeled 3 days in a row and loved every minute (and it ended up being some of the best snorkeling we had in the country, and at no extra charge)! Food was great despite cooking for only 3 of us (low season), Fijians love onions and garlic!
Negatives: the place is a bit grotty... upholstery on chairs and couches is very dirty. Bathrooms are a bit gross. No fan at night when power is off. No room cleaning in 3 days even after asking to have it swept due to sand tracking in.
So take your not-so-nice clothes, mosquito spray and enjoy the snorkeling!
Had an amazing time here in the dorm! Small, family run property with the best food I had in Fiji. Electricity during the day and decent phone service. Aku and his family went above and beyond making me feel like family. The hike and snorkeling are must dos!
incredible welcome, simply magnificent place, team taking great care of you, very good food and good portion, nice activities and at good prices. Thank you for these two days spent with you
