Good location, friendly staff, complimentary breakfast basket & easy check in & out.
Limited choice menu for dinner.
Noise travelled.
It’s quirky and easy going. The location was the thing for me as I needed to be in the area. The room (2) was quiet I was not aware of anyone else in the place. Woken with birdsong - that was cute as I live in a city.
I did find I a little odd ( but acceptable as no one around on the Sunday morning when I left ) may have been my issue as I did not really have any contact with the staff as I was attending another venue. The room was perfect for me. Many people using the garden seating in a lovely evening.
I would use again if in the area - loved the history with regard to the tiles and the sister house just down the road. You don’t get that in a travel lodge - I did not try the food so can’t comment.
Lovely setup, very private, we didn’t actually see another person whilst we were there due to a very late check in due to a breakdown. Had an excellent time here, brilliant for kids with a good play area, and another big area to play at the other side of the building too.
Shower tray broken, and bed very creaky, but these aren’t too big of a deal at all. I’d definitely go back
Friendly staff with big rooms and well kept garden area
We were on the ground floor and facing the garden but because of the almost floor to ceiling windows it felt a little exposed even though the glass was frosted on the bottom half
Quiet location, friendly reception. Clean comfortable room

Room too small, cramped & bathroom lights & other things didn't work
There was no cooked breakfast but perfectly acceptable snacks (instant porridge, wrapped pastries) with tea and coffee making facilities in the room
The weather!! Otherwise, nothing to dislike
Staff were helpful and friendly. Bed was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of parking available. Our group enjoyed taking part in the Sunday quiz.
Lack of hangers in the wardrobe, and no towel rail or hook in the bathroom, but those are just little things. The owners had only been in for 5 weeks.
The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. There's no breakfast provided but the room had a complementary breakfast basket and drink making facilities.
Only the lack of hangers in the wardrobe.
Relaxed. Lovely old building . Bed very comfortable and clean room.
Draughty windows in room need repair. Cups for tea/coffee were chipped, a few teabags for a whole weekend, a bit poor. Ordered food one night and it was terrible. Shame as staff and service was friendly.
I liked the quirkiness and history of the property as well as the spacious rooms
Nothing
The property is beautiful. Filled with stunning character. The history of the building is a great read too.
Although the furniture was brilliantly in keeping with the building, some of it really needed some tending to.
Great period property in a nice village location
The room was next to a beer garden with loud noise until late
Leaving.
Where to start on this, would never recommend. It was a complete hazard, the stairs were steep and my mother couldn’t climb them, extremely dangerous. Photos are not up to date at all! There was mould and damp in the one bedroom. Ground floor bedroom you couldn’t walk around as the base to the bed was bigger than the mattress. The floors were all uneven and made you feel like you were going to be sea sick. There were ANTS in the living room. There was no basics in the kitchen, couldn’t use the oven as no gloves were provided, no teaspoons. There was a lot of utensils were all dirty so we did not use those, what we were able to use we cleaned. The shower is ridiculous, how you expect people to shower here in comfort is crazy. The property outside was jet washed but did not clean up after themselves, the was tools left on the floor for people to injure themselves on, luckily the child was meant to attend didn’t. It felt like we were an after thought. Even the gate in the garden got blown down by the wind. The paint in this property is also peeling. I have photos of the mould and the lack of room in the bedroom, more than happy to provide these, ready for my refund.
You need to update your photos and sort out the cleanness and defects in this property. Look forward to hearing from you.
