EXCELLENT from start to finish. The perfect combination of chic , relaxed and old world elegant. Staff was awsome, rooms beautiful, food excellent and the midnight cocktails and drinks in the lounge amazing. My new, New York home.
Lovely boutique hotel! Lots of unique touches such as cookies in the room, complimentary water, etc
If you miss the complimentary coffee service (6 am - 8 am) it is more difficult than necessary to get a simple cup of coffee. Easier to walk down the street and get a cup.
Историческое здание с соответсвующим интерьером.
История дает о себе знать - ветхий и неуютный. Очень маленькие номера. Старый фитнес зал в подвале с очень неприятным запахом. Нуждается в реконструкции.
It was very pretty and comfortable
There were no facilities for coffee or tea in our room and when I sent down at 8:30 AM it was difficult to get them. I was told everything finished at 8. We just travelled all over NC, GA, and three areas in Florida. We live in PA. All of the hotels had water filling facilities and complimentary tea and coffee.
Your staff seemed more interested in each other than the guests. No offer was made to help with luggage and no questions were asked upon checkout.
From the moment we arrived, we received excellent, welcoming service. Our room was also made available to us early, which was great. Our room was so lovely, perfect decor and exceptionally clean. We loved everything about our stay, including the taste of the complimentary coffee in the bar area! We will definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff at The Bowery Hotel :)
We spent one night at the hotel and made it a full Bowery experience - dinner at Gemma, drinks at the bar, and breakfast in the room. The hotel is beautiful and the bar has a great atmosphere. The rooms are small, but comfortable. We had a corner room with views in both directions and an amazing soaking tub!
There was a delay in our room being ready for check-in, which was fine, however as an apology the front desk manager said he would take breakfast off our room tab. It was a really nice gesture, except that he didn't do it, and we were charged in full. It wasn't a big deal since we were planning to order it anyways (and the breakfast was very good!) but it's the kind of thing that you really shouldn't promise guests unless you're going to follow through.
Loved my stay at The Bowery. I had popped in before to meet a friend for a drink, but this was my first time staying, and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. The vibe in the lobby bar (where I spent way too much time, but never enough) is one of a relaxed old school euro luxury and so very cozy. Elegant yet rocknroll. Reminds me of hanging at the Chateau in LA. The staff are all wonderful as well. I booked last minute and snagged the classic Bowery Queen, and it was perfect. I loved sitting at my breakfast table in the morning looking out on the city. I stayed solo one night and with a friend the next and there was plenty of room for us to make ourselves at home. The neighborhood is perfect if you're a downtown lover like me. It's a quick 10 minute walk to one of my absolute favorite spots for a bite - Russ & Daughters (on Orchard). There is a great matcha place around the corner - Setsugekka. I discovered a great Taiwanese tea spot this last time right up on 9th called The Té Company. Veselka, another classic, is just a couple blocks away. Get your pierogis fill. I could go on. There are a million wonderful things all around this area. But I spent most of my time just at the hotel this trip as I had work to do and the lobby bar was my spot. Whether getting my work done or just enjoying a beverage. My new favorite home base when I'm in NYC.
Loved the room and the general decor of the hotel
The food and coffee can be improved
Generally, the staff were kind and the place is clearly trying, but it’s not ideal for people who don’t enjoy a vintage concept. For me, the room felt too stuffy and closed in.
We requested a late checkout. The hotel did have available rooms, but they asked us to pay for a full extra night. We explained that we only needed a room for about 30 minutes to take a shower before our flight and even offered to pay a partial amount instead of the full nightly rate, but they refused.
I’ve always loved The Bowery. Not only is the location perfect for shops, cafes and charming West Village streets, but the actual hotel is charm itself! It feels like you’re staying at a sumptuous Scottish castle not an impersonal hotel. It’s quirky, cosy, elegant, and beautiful. The rooms are really comfortable - the bed to die for, you just don’t want to get out! And the food in the restaurant is so good we had breakfast and lunch there every day, which we never usually do in hotels! The staff are so friendly and helpful, with that wonderful American can-do attitude. Every request receives an ‘absolutely’ rather than the more European ‘oh, I don’t think we can do that.’ We consider The Bowery our home away from home.
What stood out immediately was the service. The front desk team was great, polished and genuinely helpful, and one gentleman in particular made the stay feel personal in a way that is increasingly rare.
Another highlight was the guest-only seating area in the lounge for cocktails. It was quiet, comfortable, and had exactly the kind of atmosphere you hope a hotel like this will deliver. I grabbed a paper, sat down, and relaxed for the first time in a long while. That alone made the stay memorable.
My room was also stellar, with a corner view looking out over the Manhattan skyline. Between the view, the character of the hotel, and the calm in the shared spaces, it felt distinctly New York without feeling hectic.
The Bowery gets a lot right: strong service, beautiful design, and a sense of comfort that feels rare in the city. I would absolutely stay here again.
This is my favorite hotel in NYC. I've stayed upwards of 40 times. Rooms are small-ish but thoughtfully and artfully designed so that they remain comfortable and cozy. Th windows can open, for some fresh air, but A/C is also powerful. Beds are plush without being too soft. The rain showers are powerful. The hotel is very good about meeting room requests, and the check in and checkout times are much more guest friendly for the price than similar hotels in this bracket. The gorgeous, well maintained lobby is for guests only. The doormen are friendly and lovely. The staff is to be commended on how well run everything is. I can't even bear to try another property.
I have attended several events at The Bowery but had never had the pleasure of simply staying as a guest. It was fantastic. Everyone at the front desk was warm and friendly. The room service was delicious and quick. The noon check out was much appreciated. I slept like a rock. Overall, I will be very happy to return for my next visit.
Location / friendly stuff / atmosphere of the hotel
Nothing
Best customer service and atmosphere! Front desk check-in was very friendly, smooth, and clear. All of the staff make sure you are well taken care of. The room was clean, the in-room dining was excellent, beds were extremely comfortable, and there were no noise issues.
In a world where it feels like people don't pay attention to the little details, this place has still got it. 10/10 would recommend. Worth every penny.
