Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena

While Marriott maintains an extensive presence in Singapore with over 15 properties across different brands, Courtyard Novena is currently the only property operating under the Courtyard brand with a strong emphasis on convenience and simplicity. First, the property is part of the Royal Square conveniently situated directly atop Novena MRT Station and just steps away from shopping malls such as Velocity and Square 2. Dining and shopping options are plenty on the spot. With direct MRT connectivity, iconic attractions such as Orchard Road, The Merlion, Gardens by the Bay etc. are easily accessible within 15-30 minutes. Second, from facilities to services and from interior design to in-room amenities everything on offer is kept simple and catered to the essential comfort of business as well as leisure travellers. In line with its thousands of Courtyard-branded sister properties across the globe, I am in love with Courtyard Novena’s offer of a streamlined experience from checkin all the way through checkout with modern guest rooms, flexible workspaces, technology-driven services and else. Grateful to the team’s recognition of my Bonvoy elite membership, I was assigned a corner room on the highest available floor with panoramic view of the Novena area and beyond. The room was cosy, spotlessly clean and carefully designed with flexible and intuitive spaces to enable guests to work and recharge efficiently. The built-in amenities were neither fancy nor extensive, yet capable of having my basic needs essentially covered. There were plenty of standard and USB charging ports throughout the room. Lastly, I have to thank the Front Office and Loyalty teams of this property for their attentive and caring services. Despite that I only stayed for two nights, for every single interaction that I made with the team I could experience their exceptional professionalism in demonstrating the finest standard of hospitality as well as commitment to excellence. Associates like Megan, Nicholas etc. actively assisted me with whatever enquiries I raised pertaining to not just my stay at this property but also the navigation of commuter, dining and shopping options around. I totally enjoyed my time with Courtyard Novena, which I believe is among the best choices of Marriott-branded accommodation in Singapore with the price that I paid for the experience that I had.

We finally visited this hotel after many months of consideration, largely because the price point was very competitive compared with nearby options. That said, at a similar rate, other hotels might include breakfast or club lounge access, so we felt we could potentially have obtained better overall value.

The absolute highlight is the location. The hotel is extremely accessible, connected to two to three shopping malls and situated directly above an MRT station, making it just minutes from the city. Rooms are generally on higher floors, offering pleasant, unblocked views of the skyline. While the room size was smaller than we had hoped, it was clean and functional.

In terms of areas for improvement, the service did not quite meet the standards we have come to expect from other properties within the Marriott group. It wasn’t bad, but it felt somewhat average and lacked a memorable touch. As a result, we are unlikely to return in the future, as we did not feel the stay represented strong value for money.

The rooftop bar and swimming pool

Had a three night stay for business. It is a nice location which is convenient. There is a mall and the MRT station is very close.

The experience and stay was otherwise fine. The hotel lobby is on the 22nd Floor, along with the main restaurant and gymasium.
While all rooms in this hotel are of the same size, mine was a corner room, boasting a wonderful view of the city skyline. I would like to note that the room was exceptionally small. The bathroom was designed as a modular one, where it could be integrated with the bedroom by opening the sliding doors on its two ends.
I had ordered in-room-dining for dinner, and the food was rather ordinary. Further, the IRD menu was quite limited. The breakfast next morning was satisfactory. The restaurant on the 22nd Floor has a good view to offer while dining.
The hotel also has an infinity pool on its rooftop.
Overall, the property is just fine for a short stay. There are no frills but you do get a wonderful view and decent service.

I would like to take a moment to formally commend Joanne from the Front Desk for her outstanding service during my stays at Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena.

I have stayed at the hotel for more than 20 nights this year, and Joanne is the only team member who consistently remembered me, right down to my preferred room. While upgrades are always appreciated, they are not what make a guest feel truly recognised. It is the simple, thoughtful gestures like this that make all the difference.

Joanne’s attentiveness, genuine care, and attention to detail reflect a level of hospitality that goes beyond standard service. She made me feel valued as a returning guest, and that sense of recognition is what keeps me choosing your property time and again.

I believe Joanne deserves recognition for her exceptional commitment to guest experience, and I hope this feedback is shared with her and the wider team.
