Very pleasant hotel and hardworking staff. Evening meal/breakfast was superb. Comfy beds.
Pros:

The size of our room (11) was perfect. Lovely views from the windows. I left a few items of clothing in our room and the reception phoned me and I had only just set off so returned to the hotel to collect my items I had left in the wardrobe!!!
The breakfast was excellent, our evening meal on Friday was superb. We have been coming here for 12 years now and really enjoy KL.

Cons:

There was nothing I didnt like and nothing I could think of to be improved.

Enjoyable,restful and with a superb lebel if service - particular shout out to Melissa who nade the whole stay just that

Location, ambience and feel - staff were excellent food very fine and generally an enjoyable and positive experience - would certainly stay here agsin

Cons:

Decor and furnishings felt a little tired and dated eg 2x really comfortable wing back fireside chairs in the room but both had tears to the arms with stuffing sticking out.no hooks for coats dressing gowns etc minor irritations compensated fir by the staff and general feel if the hotel

Lovely again but…
Pros:

Lovely people at the Royal. Cumbrian breakfast was excellent as was the bar for drinks in the evening!

Cons:

Pillows needed to be a lot more substantial for a better quality sleep! Had to fold one in half!! We stayed in room 12 this time so to balance it was just an overnight stay and we have been to the hotel previously. The Royal feels like it needs an update in some rooms in the near future but I’m sure this needs to be balanced by the cost. Mould on the bathroom ceiling needed removing, stain blocking then repainting.

A classic market town hote with friend staff and a good breakfast offering, in a great location.
Pros:

Easy check-in, friendly staff and a lovely old market town hotel, well renovated and cared for.
The room was very generously sized, and we loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom!
Breakfast was very good on the whole, perhaps more fresh fruit would be a worthwhile addition?

Cons:

Some of the seats in the breakfast area were not ideal for us.
Some people may not like the dog-friendly policy?
Lack of car parking was not an issue to us on this occasion, but is worth bearing in mind.

Some things just strange tiramasu on memnu nut was actually the chefs take on it weird didnt even resemble deconstructed tiramasue what a shame and wasnt stated as not a tiramasue

Lovely weekend break in this comfortable & convenient hotel
Pros:

Lovely hotel, large comfortable room. Great breakfast. Really good location but no parking at hotel.

Cons:

Parking was difficult and expensive.
Great service at breakfast one day not so good the next day.
Shower not draining properly but was being investigated

Rooms are tired, its not a bath its a stand in tub too dangerous to use if you want a shower. Pillows are past it.
