Would recommend as a place to stay in Kirby Lonsdale
Pros:

Lovely old building. Perfectly situated for our stay. All areas within the building accessible for us with limited mobility. Staff were brilliant- very friendly and helpful

Great location but let down in other areas

The room was in no way a superior room! The curtains were sun damaged and now fraying which does which does not feel superior. The bathroom was tatty. The staff were not welcoming, we waited 5 minutes to book in (there was no bell) at reception which was in a busy hallway. The staff are trying to do too much and the customer is lost in this.

Pros:

Lovely hotel in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale. Very comfortable reception rooms, bar and restaurant. Bed was super comfortable and all staff very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was exceptional.
Would definitely recommend a stay at this historic hotel

Very comfortable and enjoyable. Would stay there again.
Pros:

Helpful staff member on desk booked us in and helped us in securing our tandem in a safe place overnight.
He was also very pleasant together with his young trainee waiter throughout our evening meal service.
The food was good, my meal in particular.
Room was very comfortable and well-equipped. We had an electric portable fan in our room - which was essential given our room overheating owing to the direction it faced and the overwhelming external temperatures. In truth, air conditioning would have been more appropriate.

Cons:

One of the two Georgian windows in our bedroom was sealed shut and the second had limited opening. Given the extremely high temperature / humidity it would have been much better to have improved ventilation.

Loved our stay as always in this beautiful town

Been coming to Kirkby Lonsdale for a lot of years and stayed at The Royal many times.
Lovely hotel.

Cons:

The room we stayed in is getting a little tired, particularly the bathroom. Around the window is very mouldy and is in need of replacement. Also, when advertising this room the bath/shower should be expkained fully that it is 3 steps up to the bath/shower with a very deep bath. This could make it difficult for older people to use.
