We stayed at the sunsquare hotel for five nights in total, Four nights to explore the wonderful city of Cape town and a further single night after returning from a kruger safari.
The whole experience was excellent, from check in to check out.Our room was located on the top 12th floor as requested at the time of booking and provided fantastic views across the city to the V&A. The room was very clean and modern, with everything you would expect to find in a quality hotel. The hotel has a great roof top bar which again has fantastic views including table mountain. The swimming pool is also located on the top floor.
We stayed B & B and the breakfast was very good, with an excellent selection of drinks, cold and hot food. The omelettes were very good and when requested the poached eggs were great.
The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and polite and made our first stay in the beautiful city so easy.
The position of the hotel is a quick 5 mins uber drive to the time out market and V&A waterfront. 12 mins to Camps bay and a 2 min walk to Bo-kaap.
This hotel offers a great option to stay when visiting the wonderful city.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay.
Clean, pleasant, comfortable modern hotel with helpful staff. Great views over the colourful Bo Kaap district and up to Table Mountain. Excellent sound-proofing and rooms a good temperature.
I enjoyed the experience and staff. Reception staff very helpful and the housekeeping is excellent. Location also was really good
Very nice room and hotel. Area ok to walk in, good restaurants nearby. AC didnt quite work as well as we hoped but think maybe it wasnt offered during "summer" months.
Only had free breakfast in restaurant - staff friendly but service not great. Had to track down and pour our own coffee 2 out of 3 days
The hotel was the last place we stayed in South Africa. It was clean but the bed we had was tiny for two people. The front desk insisted I come down ( 9 pm I was already in pajamas ready to go to sleep) to settle charges to the room - I was surprised and found this a bit rude as I would never think of not paying my room charge on check out. The food was average quality. Service was slow but friendly other than the reception on our last night. I felt a little disrespected so I don’t plan to visit this hotel again.
Location- centrally located with view of table mountain on one side of the hotel. Supermarket like pick and pay within 5 to 7 minutes, walking distance, also, KFC and McDonald’s within five minutes, walking distance.
Breakfast, so very good spread with live counter for eggs, besides that there is sausage, ham, fruit, cereals, croissant muffins, fresh juice, tea, coffee, toast, bread, and yoghurt, just to name a few
Rooms are average in size, they are neither big nor too small. The rooms had a working desk and there was view of the table mountain from our room
Service- can be better, unfortunately, there is no service if bell boy who can carry your luggage and help you with it
Disappointment-we had visited the hotel as a couple, but were shocked to be given a room with two single beds. after requesting we were accommodated, but ideally such a mistake should never happen. The drain in the shower area was clogged and it had to be brought to their attention, unfortunately, even after such blunders, the Hotel did not have any gesture to make us feel that they were sorry for the entire incident .
I was very satisfied with my room. I had a nice view on a higher floor. The bed and pillows were really comfortable, and the decor of the room was really pleasing. The room had a small refrigerator in it which was nice. The hotel's breakfast was excellent! There is a large buffet and you can get eggs to order.
Stayed in CapeTown for 4 days prior to joining a cruise ship. This hotel is in a more central area and we found lots of great restaurants around the area as well as eating in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the city safety personel on each street junction made us feel safe. Roof top bar and balcony with small pool was a delight.
Lage ok, Parkgarage top, Frühstück kleine Auswahl - Bedienung hätte aufmerksamer sein können. Check-In / Out top.
This was a good location for getting around downtown Cape Town. It was easy and inexpensive to use Uber to go to places that were a little farther away. The hotel does not have a concierge so we had to figure out a lot of things on our own. The bed was a little hard, and the pillow is very flat.
Our initial room was very small, not the cleanest, and directly across the street from a doggy daycare. We requested a different room. The second room accommodated our needs. The food was amazing and the hotel is situated in an ideal location.
That's enough feedback,
Took ages to check in. Ordered drinks and food in downstairs restaurant - food poor , my husband’s beer took 15 mins to come as they had to fetch it from the 14th floor !
No room service! Wait at 8pm for food on roof top bar 45 mins as it was prepared on ground floor and bought up in lift by waiter ( surely cold by arrival )
Nice room but unfortunately noisy from road / music downstairs and air con!
Do not recommend.
The stay at the SunSquare hotel was nice but unfortunately can only give it 3 stars due to the staff. Most of my encounters with staff were fine. However on the last day, I paid to extend my hotel room until 6pm, because I had a late flight back to the UK.
At aprox 1pm, I had the room cleaner try to get in without knocking (so the information hadn’t been passed on to them about my late check out). This woke me up, as I was resting before my international flight home. Not really acceptable.
When I checked out, I explained about my disappointment, and they basically said “oh well”. Not the excellent customer service I would have expected.
Hotel in an okay location, and views of table mountain. Breakfast was okay, some of the hot breakfast items were cold.
The SunSquare was a great place to spend our five nights in Capetown! It is a beautiful hotel, in a great location - in City Bowl and walking distance to V&A - and the staff was great. The room was wonderful and even had a view of Bo-Kaap. The full breakfast has everything and was tasty though it was a bit slow at times given some big crowds. The rooftop had a pool and also bar with outside seating and incredible views of the harbor and also Table Mountain. The hotel was very helpful arranging airport transfer. Really wonderful hotel and very reasonable.
Ok location, good quality.
I've been to Cape Town so many times so this was not a holiday for me. I needed a hotel where I can just sleep and stay in and I couldn't have chosen ant better. The room was big enough, the bed comfortable and rain shower head so heavenly. So I did not leave the hotel at all, the restaurant downstairs was enough as the food was more than delicious and when I wanted to just sit and read a book I went to the rooftop which had amazing views. I couldn't have asked for more 😀 shout out to Zedande at reception such a friendly reception she provided, the lady who did eggs at breakfast (didn't get her name) , she said to me "I'm gonna make you the best omelette you've ever had" and you know what she was not lying, it was the best.
