Profolio Straits Quay

This is more nice room , I feel impressed so much and I will be back and visit again 🙏

The view is outstanding..

The property is quite unique in its surrounding close to the sea and with different shops and eatery.

The electrical breaker kept tripping on the master bath water heater. So I could not use that bathroom. In using the other bathroom the shower is stopped up and so a quick shower so it didn’t flood into the bathroom.

The place is dirty and maintenance is overdue.

Towels are torn.

Pillows have brown stains.

This property needs a good clean, repair work and paint.

I was not goven a pool view room as advertised on my booking. When rung up the given straits quay property contact , staff was not friendly dued to the booking was not direct from them. Room was dirty , bathroom has cockroaches , wet towels still left in the washer. I was very disappointed .

Still got some rubbish and stuffs didnt finish cleaning up, apparently some closets still got owner stuff in it.

The first day we had no hot water. The main bathroom was repaired on the second day but the en-suite took several days before we could use it. The TV uses an Android box that had no instructions. 327 channels but no guide and the box had to be reset about 3 times each night. Until we got the manager up we could not see anything but a black screen. A guide to the TV, oven and other items in the room would be useful. Ken the manager was approachable, friendly and helpful but often was off site. The room was comfortable if not a little dated in furniture. The bathrooms (when we could use them) were very up market and luxurious and definitely the highlight of the room. Mattress as is usual in SE Asia was like a rock. Fridge was a good size and very cold but noisy. Microwave is very basic. Oven and hot plates worked ok but took some experimenting without instructions. The air con and fans were very efficient. Second TV in the en-suite was useless. Room is serviced 3 times a week and the washing machine supplied is fine and the balcony was adequate to dry clothes.

Communication with property manager was good. Apartment was spacious and clean. Pool was nice and big. Small supermarket, eateries and other facilities available on the property.

This unit was good for the price that we paid. Very comfortable and good location. The only minor setback is that the shower areas in both bathrooms can be a bit cleaner to truly make this unit outstanding. The owner did send the cleaners to try clean up the shower area upon our request.

The view awesome. Owner very good. Will repeat to stay here again

1) th oven short circuit as it cuts off.
2) suggest to have microwave, would be convenient to heat up food.

The beds were comfortable and the shower nice. This is not a hotel and there is no staff. Couldn't access the pool or fitness center. Its more like a condo you rent from a private person who doesn't leave you their contact info. The refrigerator was not plugged in, warm and stinky, and no way to plug it in. The stove top was dirty. So we didn't use the kitchen at all. The room was nice but it wasn't what we thought we were getting.

Liked the quiet serenity with sea view. Place was well equipped.

Our stay here at Profolio @ Straits Quay was one of biggest highlights of our trip. Ken was unbelievable... so nice, very cordial, friendly, helpful, and most of all respectful. This was a definite top notch spot and stay, and we will be back real soon. The area has many resources, includIng a 7-11 around the corner and Tesco down the street that closes at 1am. Its not far from all the attractions, and you can go almost anywhere from there via Grab, very affordable. The accomodation is very roomy, spacious, and comfy. It is situated inside a mall, yet it is very private and secure. Make sure you call in advance to make arrangements to meet with owner. At this point, it would also be a good idea to arrange for airport pickup with owner, if needed. Once you have those squared away, you are good to go. Penang is a wonderful place, including its people... who are very proud of their city. You will definitely enjoy, and booking this place gives you a worry free vacation. Have fun!

Bad management, don’t stay!

Although this particular unit doesn't have the ocean "view" there is a common area lounge right outside the door where you can sit under ceiling fans with large open windows to enjoy the sea breezes and expansive ocean view. The Straits Quay has many events - some regular and others special - that made the trip very enjoyable. With shops, restaurants and two groceries downstairs, it was a very convenient place to stay and relax. It is also a short trip to Gurney Drive, Georgetown or the beaches of Batu Ferenghi. The hop on hop off bus is right in front of the Straits Quay - as is the local bus stop. You can easily catch a "Grab" car to take you anywhere on the island. Ken from Profolio was very helpful and accommodating.
