Booked the rooftop pool for my friend’s 60th birthday party. Nicole, the events manager, was so helpful in getting us what we needed to make it a truly memorable experience! From the atmosphere, music and food were fantastic, but it was the service that was exceptional. Rolando told such good care of us. Thanks to all who made it a special night.

John, the shuttle driver was the most pleasant and inviting person. He started off my experience with such a smile and great information. John set the tone for my experience in Sarasota, I can’t to come back.

Chas at the front desk has made this an amazing stay. We travel all over the world and this man is one of the most hospitable, gracious, and has integrity. What he says he does. He is a tremendous manager and represents the very best in Marriott. We celebrated our 39th and will be back for our 40th because of this outstanding customer service.

Shuttle driver John was outstanding. He provided exceptional service and made what would normally have been a boring shuttle ride very fun. It was likebeing driven around town by an old friend with great stories and fabulous sense of humor. Well done :)

Pros: Overall property and room was clean and comfortable. Good bed. Good shower/water pressure. Very artsy decor throughout property, hence the "Art" Ovation. In the room there were colored pencils and a sketch book--nice touch. I left my mark there. Convenient walking location. Cons: I'm giving property a 4/5 because the pool is not heated and FREEZING COLD! I mean come on it's a vacation spot! It's not even a big pool--get a solar cover and heat that baby up! Also daytime pool music was AWFUL.

I try to come to Art Ovation every year for Spring Break, I am a teacher. I always feel safe and taken care of here, I love the rooftop pool and friendly staff! Love John D ( the shuttle driver) . He is always the best part of the trip. John is personable, kind, hilarious and goes out of his way for his customers. He makes my time special.

I chose this hotel based on its location and the roof top bar.
We arrived just after 4pm (check-in time), after a 4hour drive from Miami but had to wait an additional 40minutes until the room was ready. No big deal but a bit surprising considering this was the most expensive hotel in which we stayed in our 2 week trip around Florida. We were in room 638 which meant we weren’t far from the roof top bar which was good in some respects but also meant you could hear the thump of music on the Thursday and Friday night of our stay. Fortunately we were tired both nights so it didn’t keep us awake.
We didn’t eat here so couldn’t comment on this - we went to the local Whole Foods Market and bought in breakfast ourselves.
There was Jazz playing in the downstairs bar and Latin music in the rooftop bar on the Thursday night, Piano music downstairs and music in the Rooftop bar on the Friday night. Definitely a location if you like a wide variety of music/ dancing.
We self-parked our car in the Palm Avenue Garage next door and paid for 19 hours of parking. We parked in front of a sign saying zone 2274. Three bays away was a sign saying ‘restricted parking 6am-10am’. We asked a local who didn’t think it was a problem. There was no-one in the garage to ask. We discovered a 35 dollar fine on our windscreen when we retrieved our car.
We have since read reviews for this hotel written by American citizens who have also received tickets. The hotel responded to their reviews in February 2024 and August 2025 explaining that they planned to alert guests. Well, by our stay, March 2026, they are still not alerting their guests.
We liked the roof top bar and the large room.
The first question that reception staff should have asked is - Do you have a vehicle followed up with help telling us where to park without incurring a ticket. This spoiled our stay in Sarasota.

Sarah at the first floor bar was the best! We had an amazing stay at the Art Ovation Hotel. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again.

John was great! Very patient and friendly 10/10!
