It was great but the main thing i appreciated i had a bus to catch at 630am so i checked out at 5am and they had the most epic lunch box prepared for me with maybe the best sandwich ive ever had. Id go back just for another sandwich

Bad experience at Park Hotel Goloseeve

Bad experience at Park hotel, good thing it was 1 night stay. Service is catastrophic. Starting from sour receptionist at the evening which checked me in, had a very bad attitude, she was practically doing me a favor she is doing her job. The main service lady at breakfast was arguing with me what an omelete is, after i asked for an omelete and not scrambled eggs.. I could not believe it. After a few minutes getting no where, I had no breakfast and left the place. My message to the hotel administration is very simple, get your staff in order and check who you are hiring.

We visited family in this neighborhood and this hotel was great. Nice staff, great restaurant, easy walk to metro. The nearby park was a lot of fun for kids.

Charming But Noisy
Pros:

While the hotel is obviously old, it's clean and well maintained. However, I was given a room on the 2nd floor right by the lift (which was obviously added later in the hotel's life). The amount of noise generated by the lift, the pipes, and the neighbors was tremendous. I had difficulty sleeping every night I was there, unfortunately (compounded by massive jet lag). The hotel wifi died around 11pm on my first night, and there was nothing they could do until morning (understandable). They also provide only two very thin pillows. But those were the only issues. If you're a heavy sleeper, I don't think you'll have any problems. The restaurant, Pivny Sad (Beer Garden), is excellent. Good Ukrainian food such as borshch and salo, as well as steak, lamb, and a tremendous variety of other dishes. Breakfast was also adequate with eggs, sausage, bread, cured meats, cheese, water, juice, tea and coffee. Inna, the administrator, was a delight. As this was my first time back in a Russian-speaking country in almost 15 years, I needed some help in English and she was cheerful and helpful. She tried her best to solve the wifi issue, took care of my other requests (such as laundry service), and arranged a taxi for me to the train station. I would stay here again, but try to get a room on one of the upper floors away from the lift.

Great hotel. Restaurant is extremely good,and moderately priced. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The front staff is great. They have a spa. The wait staff in the restaurant are efficient. I stay there frequently.
