The description on the site does not do it justice: it's nothing like a hotel room, bit instead a 4-storey villa.

Beautiful in every last detail, from the furniture to the artwork, to fantastic attentive, but unobtrusive staff.

First floor was living room / office, second floor a sitting room/tea room, third floor a fantastic bedroom, fourth a - slightly underwhelming in comparison to the rest - bathroom, but with fantastic shower amenities; and then there's a rooftop terrace.

Breakfast was included and very good and a reasonable price.

This is a hotel that can compete with the likes of Aman, Puli and Peninsula, on of the best in Shanghai.

hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood but quite close to major transportation points. the room itself is amazing. 5 floors of space.

Fabulous stay here, warmly stunning interior of the villa with excellent housekeeping service, delighted with the fine eyes of details. Highly regarded overall.

This is our second stay at Capella. Again we love it very much. Quiet, cozy, spacious, and elegant decor.

Very discreet location, and quiet. Feels like I left Shanghai for a moment. The courtyard is beautiful. Very nice restaurants adjacent to the property. The staff is very nice, and helpful. The villas are so private, it feels like home instead of a hotel. Lovely little gifts at turn down service every night. Adds a special touch to Capella. Will continue to stay here every time I visit Shanghai.

My husband and I both grew up in the area. Each time we go visit Shanghai, we always set aside one afternoon strolling along streets in the French concession area. The leafy mulberry trees cover almost entire sky during the summer that shades away the sun and heat….
This time we decided to stay at Capella Jian Ye Li instead of other five star hotels. As soon as we walk into our villa, we immediately feel like we are at home. At Capella, you don’t get noise/traffic like you do at other hotel lobbies or in the elevator.
The villa is designed so beautifully. Everything feels so tasty and elegant. And it is very spacious. We just love it, and our friends who visited us at villa all love it.
We had breakfast at its restaurant. The buffet is very delicious and you can also order from the menu. Again the décor in the dining area is very elegant. We sat by the balcony window door overlooking the courtyard while we enjoyed our breakfast.
For people like us who prefer quietness, cozy and comfy when traveling, Capella is the place to enjoy your visiting in Shanghai. We decided we will stay at Capella Jian Ye Li again on our next Shanghai trip.

昔フランス人が建てたタウンハウスのような住宅から改築したホテルです。花が咲き乱れ、ビバリーヒルズのセレブホテルの雰囲気が漂っています。一つのヴィラーでは、１階にリビング、2階にオーディオルーム、3階に寝室、4階にお風呂と4つのフロアでできています。さらに屋上テラスがあります。階段が大変ですが、足腰が悪くなければ、大変趣のあるホテルですので、体験してみる価値はあります。
