Nice location but poor bed and breakfast standards for the price.
Pros:

Staff were polite and friendly. The evening meal, which was separate, was excellent.

Cons:

The room was functional but very tired and the radiators were very noisy. Neither of the two mirror lamps worked.

On approach, the planter was full of butts. The breakfast was poor and the tea, which was in a help-yourself thermos (really) was stewed! The location was excellent but that is not the be all and end all of a vacation. This hotel needs a woman’s touch and a large ‘to do’ list

Pros:

Our stay at the Seaview John O Groats Hotel was a wonderful experience highlighted by the breathtaking panoramic views of the Pentland Firth and Orkney Islands. The restaurant and cozy lounge bar served fantastic meals prepared from fresh local produce. Additionally, the spotlessly clean rooms and exceptionally warm, welcoming hospitality made us feel right at home.

It was all very disappointing but to be fair the manager tried to dull the pain by not charging us for our drinks.
Pros:

It seems to be the only place on offer in John O Groats.

Cons:

The service at dinner was really slow and not in order of ordering so one couple who arrived 30 minutes after us were served first. The food was average. Soup quality very ordinary. Potatoes lukewarm. The chef apparently is unable to poach an egg. The bathroom light over the mirror was broken. The TV and the remote were not partnered.

Prima betaalbaar verblijf op een geweldige locatie.
Pros:

De prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is heel erg goed. Te lopen naar John O Groats, de auto kan pal voor het hotel staan en er is een hele gezellige bar. En een prima ontbijt. Niet. Oor niets al meerdere keren geweest.

The staff were awesome. Food was great. Good location.

Cons:

Strange buzzing in room, which was unable to be located. Turned on extractor fan in bathroom to cover the noise. Door needed cardboard to keep it from rattling. It was a basic room, so expectations were not high, but.....

Excellent stay and sound stay again.
Pros:

Well placed for me visiting the signpost, super comfy bed and wonderful food. All staff were amazing

Cons:

Only problem I had was the shower draining, it could just need drain unblocked but the bottom did fill up too much

High storage surfaces above hanging rails had not been dusted, leaving clothes dusty.

Warm welcome, great food and good value.
Pros:

Really easy to find, great value for money, and a really warm welcome. The food here is excellent (had evening meal and breakfast) and the room was spacious and clean with a really powerful hot shower. The staff went out of their way to make me and my dog feel welcome, I would come back here any time.
