Location excellent, lovely room and spotlessly clean

Cons:

No toilet brush. Otherwise everything was fine. There are a lot of stairs so if this would be a problem for you, you need to make them aware when booking.

Need to address the smell of food in room. Gave me a sore throat and I'm a very relaxed person.
Pros:

Good location and room was nice enough.

Cons:

The room smelt of food. To the extent I had to sleep with window open. I could only guess the extraction in the bathroom was linked to the kitchen some how. Not a good night. Breakfast at 8 is too late.

Historic stay in Louth.
Pros:

The Mason's Arms is right in the centre of the town. The staff are friendly and the room was comfortable and clean.

Cons:

Keep in mind it is a historic building with lots of stairs. Our room was small so we were glad to have only brought our overnight bags with us and left our suitcases in the car. Allocated parking is an easy 5 mins walk away. The staff register your car during check in which covers the parking fee.

Lovely, traditional hotel within walking distance of Louth's pubs and restaurants.
Pros:

This is a nice hotel, right in the heart of Louth and close to all the local pubs and restaurants.

Cons:

The car park is not close to the hotel and it means that if you have a lot of luggage, you have to carry it quite a long way. The other issue is that, on market days, (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays) you can't drive you car down to the entrance of the hotel because market traders' stalls are set up along the street, so you either have to wait until the market finishes, or park in the car park and carry your luggage to the property.
However, having said this, the staff gave us a useful map, to direct us to the car park, with instructions on the walking route from there to the hotel.

Great location but staff and breakfast a bit disappointing
Pros:

The room was nice but a lot of steps with no lift. Location was excellent for our purposes.

Cons:

We tried to book breakfast for the next day on arrival but were not able to. Breakfast was disappointing. The poached eggs were over cooked and had to be sent back, they came back with no toast. We waiting a while for it despite hardly anyone else being there. The member of staff didn't seem to remember anything we said. She came back and checked the order a couple of times. she also didn't recognise us in the morning despite having checked us in the day before and saying she would see us in the morning.
