I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed April 13th to 20th 2026.
Perfect location for everything, from easy access to public transport to be able to go anywhere, the beach is across the road, with a lovely promenade to walk along right next to it. Plenty of eaty places nearby. A Harbour within walking distance, to be able to travel by boat to other towns along the Amalfi coast. A lovely feel good town, not too big or overcrowded at this time of year. Perfect temperature too. Be prepared for steep walks if you're up to it, along the Lemon walk. Beautiful views, but can be quite tough if you're not used to that sort of exercise.
The hotel was very basic, but lovely. Ask for room 47, if you're able to walk up one flight of sheepish stairs with your suitcase! The lift stops on the floor below, then we had the walk up the stairs to our room on the roof, with its own entrance! Well worth it!! A huge surround balcony, with a perfect view all round.
The breakfast room on floor 6 also had a view of the town and coastline, so a perfect way to start the day. Breakfast was plentiful, help yourself buffet style. Everything that you could ask for. Hot and cold choices, which filled us up for most of the day. Very friendly staff, always smiling and singing. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they were always so thrilled if we tried to speak a phrase in their language.
There is also a restaurant in the hotel. We ate there once, but felt disappointed, but managed to find a restaurant that we liked, further in the town, so all was not lost.
I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel, and we'll definitely stay there again in the future.
So I was a little apprehensive about staying here are seeing some of the reviews but I shouldn't have worried. Our stay from start to finish was a great experience.
The hotel is located above a restaurant and residential flats on the lower floors and is the sea front is directly in front of the building. We didn't hear any noise apart from the Sunday night when Inter Milan won Serie A and the locals went a bit wild but it was all quiet by midnight!
We stayed in Flat 1. It has a double bedroom, sofa bed in the living room, large shower/WC and kitchen. The room was extremely comfortable and it was great having the benefit of a big fridge and a freezer in the kitchen. The view from the large terrace was amazing and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of the waves in the morning.
We stayed half board. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. The hot water for tea was cold (no no morning cuppa) as was the black coffee. Ended up getting coffee out of the machine. Not many larger cups either. They did do eggs and bacon but the eggs were scrambled and the bacon very crisp. There was a good selection of pastries and you could have cereal, fruit and yoghurts. The evening meal was a lot better although limited to 2 choices for both your starter and mains (usually a fish dish and a meat dish). We had a vegetarian in our group and they very happily made something for her. The portions were a good sized too.
Staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us and they helped make our stay so enjoyable.
I would definitely go back as Maiori is a good base for exploring the Amalfi Coast. We did the Lemon Walk (lots of steps at the beginning and end) and also used the ferry a couple of times.
A lovely, friendly hotel. Breakfast was basic, but good with enough choice (lovely crispy bacon!). My husband is coeliac and was accommodated with special bread every morning.
We ate in the hotel restaurant every night and were looked after brilliantly, especially by Valentin (sorry if I have spelt it wrong).
My only criticism is that there is no facility to make hot drinks in the room. I really missed my first coffee looking out over the side-sea view, that would have been perfect!
The room was comfy and clean, if a little small. The view from our terrace more than made up for that.
We came as part of a package and I feel we paid about right fir this holiday.
I called the hotel directly and got an off-season price. Everyone of the staff were humble and available to help. The room was bigger which comes with a decent size terrace. The room was tidy. The restaurant and food prepared was amazing. Breakfast was served on the roof top directly looking at the beach. The musical and dance night on Saturday was cherry on the top. Overall, it was a lovely experience. Thank you
Disaster from start to finish DO NOT BOOK Hotel Sole Maiori Annex
Mis-lead from booking - website description very misleading
Not a hotel - not fit for purpose it is a private residential block, dirty, smashed glass, broken fittings, graffiti, screaming kids, dogs barking, lost power for the whole of one day so were in pitch darkness as shutters were electric metal security type so wouldn’t have been able to escape as they were stuck down.
No fire escape instructions,
No smoke alarm
No fire alarm
No emergency lighting
No telephone line to main ‘hotel’
Due to PLANNED power outage (that they didn’t inform us about) we had no hot water for 3 days
No offers to use the main hotel for showering etc
Kitchen helper lady was sent to try and fix the boiler and started pulling pipes off and water went everywhere, then poking about in the electrical fuse boxes.
Our balcony view was of the barking dog and the very noisy main road out of Maiori and above a bar with its 6am drink barrels delivered
The main ‘hotel’ 350 yards away at the other end of the block isn’t a normal hotel either it’s another 7 story apartment block over a restaurant which they have use of the top 2 floors via a tiny lift.
Guests in the main part were generally pleased but said restaurant was awful, rooms tiny,
Breakfast was very limited
Terrace has a spectacular view-
Staff were lovely - probably embarrassed to work there though.
TUI WERE AWFUL AND ARE STILL DISMISSING OUR COMPLAINT
On arrival we contracted them and asked to be moved but they didn’t/wouldnt
move us so we were stuck in what we called our prison block.
Didn’t keep us informed/ not updated/not assisted
Have been dismissing us since so taking it further
We paid over £3500 for what was supposed to be a bucket list holiday. One week in the prison block and one week at Hotel Capri in Sorrento- which was the complete opposite- beautiful hotel, gorgeous food and amazing staff. Brilliant location and would 100% go back.
There are 3 flats in the Annexe which all seem to be used by TUI so be aware.
DO NOT BOOK!
We returned back from the Hotel Sole yesterday 31st October and what an absolutely fantastic stay, Rosella kindly allocated us room 47 and all I can say is Amazing, the views of the beach and Maoiri coast are spectacular and so beautiful at night, the food in the restaurant is fantastic and staff so polite and helpful also you get 10% off as a staying guest, breakfast is really great and Pina always welcomes you with a smile and also helpful to all your needs, our bedroom was spotless with a large shower cleaned every day by Tina, we loved sitting on the balcony every night after a long day touring the Amalfi coast, the Hotel Sole is ideally situated as we visited, Salerno, Vetre Su Mare, Minori, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento and would highly recommend it, Thank you to Rosella , pina and all the staff for making our Anniversary and retirement so special, Ciao
This hotel was used as a base for a few days exploring the Amalfi coast. It worked out perfect for us. We were in the annex which is a very short walk on the main sea front. The room was clean comfortable and safe. All we needed for the little time we spent in the room. We were made to feel very welcome whenever we visited the main hotel block for breakfast and the evening we chose to eat there. Breakfast was a little hit and miss. A lovely Italian lady seemed to be in charge and was a lovely host but a little more time clearing tables and restocking the buffet would of been nice. We also had cocktails one evening on the balcony which was a lovely setting to watch the sun go down.
All in all it is what it is, an ideally located bed and breakfast to access the main towns on that stretch of the Amalfi coast.
Would recommend if this is what your looking for.
The hotel was lovely
The staff lovely and friendly from receptionists even with a broken foot still smiling 😁
The brekfast cook , cleaner and staff in the restaurant and management team .
Best pizza in miaori beautiful pasta dishes and the steak melted in your mouth .compliments to the chef xx
After reading some of the reviews prior to us arriving at this hotel I was a little nervous at what to expect
I can only sum this up by saying
Amazing staff who can't do enough for you, a credit to the hotel
Beautiful views, you couldn't get nicer views of the island
Nice breakfast
Clean rooms with plenty of space and lovely balcony
Perfect location for restaurants, bars and public transport
We feel that TUI lead us up the garden path by letting us book this hotel. Firstly the annex is 300 yards away from the hotel proper which means a 300 yd walk along a main road to have breakfast.
The annex balcony shown on the TUI page is not the annex it’s actually the main hotel rooftop bar. No emergency lighting only one fire extinguisher to serve 5-6 rooms and that is placed at the front door of the entrance to the annex. Wet towel in our room on arrival dirt on flat surfaces and the fact that these rooms are in a residential block are just a few of the issues. Add to that for our week long stay we had no electricity for 17 hours and no hot water for three days which was unacceptable.
During the no power day our metal electric powered blinds were in the down position which given the potential fire issues would make escaping a fire almost impossible.
TUI needs to get this place off their books to avoid other folks being misled and miss sold a holiday here.
Booked with TUI. Expected the annex to be next door it’s not it’s down the road it’s in an apartment block how does TUI even sell this holiday ! Do not book her what a dump complainec first night as power went on the reception said the whole building has no power we said how come there light when entering and the lifts working 2nd night no hot water the boiler broke yet agin reception actually came to this dump of a room and said no hot water till tomorrow I adjective to move twice to there a joining hotel it was a no you could come for a shower but to be honest did not fancy working 250 yards there and have to come back , askec to see the TUI rep waiting let’s see what goes wrong today do not book this hotel as you won’t get to stay in there they but you in a apartment block which is not the best
Perfect base to explore the Amalfi Coast!
Room was basic but clean. Breakfast was fresh and served with amazing views!
Food and drink selection was fantastic.
Great discount to use the beach club.
Overall a brilliant location to explore the local area, great food & helpful and friendly staff!
This is not a hotel it is 2 floors of rooms above residential flats. The worst breakfast I’ve ever had, all the food is cheap processed food, tinned fruit, cheap bread, cheap yogurts, poor choice, dirty cups and cutlery and birds on the tables and food!! The lift holds 3 people max and is not fit for purpose. The hotel is advertised with private beach but you need to pay 10 euros each to lie on a sun bed in a very cramped area on a shingle beach. We were packed in like sardines to make most of the limited space. You also pay more at the weekend, a complete and utter rip off, didn’t go back after first day. Dinner at night was fine but on a half board basis expected at least free water but no, had to pay for bottled tap water, total joke. We paid plenty for this hotel but it certainly wasn’t worth the money. There are much better hotels in Maiori. Fortunately I got one of the more modern rooms but my son got an older room which was horrific, totally outdated and grubby looking so it’s just your luck which room you get. Do not come to this hotel, you will be disappointed and the Tui rep. was useless in dealing with my complaints.
Great Brekky with a sensational view
Personel çok anlayışlı ve güleryüzlü. Kesinlikle bir daha giderim
La amabilidad de todo el personal.
Really liked the location and room was comfortable and clean with a nice balcony.
Breakfast area could have been cleaner.
Great location set in beautiful Maiori. Room basic but very comfortable bed/pillows. Shower a tad temperamental but manageable. Staff all so pleasant , respectful and helpful. My room on 6th floor had massive balcony with side sea/town view which was much better than front sea-facing. Excellent aircon and controlled in-room and not by reception as stated in a former post.
Breakfast was adequate with usual fare. I was half board : limited choice each day but the quality of the food was simply excellent and a match for the other restaurants I dined in ; not only Maiori but in Amalfi , Salerno and Positano.
Bus stop literally outside hotel with ferry port a 10min walk. Great regular ferry services to Salerno, Vietri, Cetara, Amalfi and Positano. Ferry also available to Capri. Ticket office on the Front as you walk towards Port. Nice easy 15min walk along front into neighbouring village of Minori...I say easy...Road not pedestrianised so caution advised.
You'll find prices generally lower in Maiori compared with Amalfi and Positano.
Sole does not have a pool but is beach-front and has an associated beach club across the road. This is very expensive . As advised by hotel I mentioned i was resident so as to facilitate a discount. I was quoted €50 for lounger and umbrella for unlimited time. Not a chance !! I did however pay €30 because my bed was further from front. Club has bar with food , showers and toilets and I imagine that price is competitive with the many private beach clubs along the entire stretch. But come on Sole...troppo caro !
Great stay.
