Great hotel, if you are on the front work out the air-con as an open window you may get noise from the nightclubs up the road at kicking out time!
Well located just off St Stephens Square. Nice large reception area serviced from bar. Staff were helpful and will be five star across the board when the Aircon issue in our room is resolved.
Fantastic hotel staff would make you return very helpful people to deal with Parking is a problem. The breakfast is fine beautiful place to relax, Very close to Dublin city Centre Luas pretty much right outside the front door
From the moment I arrived, this hotel set a high bar — and the team here cleared it with ease. While the accommodations were lovely (the bed was genuinely one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in), what truly elevated my stay were two remarkable team members who went above and beyond.
Alan, the concierge, was an absolute gem. Knowledgeable, attentive, and warm, he had a gift for anticipating needs before they were even voiced. The kind of hospitality professional who makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another room number.
And then there’s Renan — who I can only describe as a problem-solver extraordinaire. I found myself in a few unexpected, out-of-the-ordinary situations during my stay, and Renan handled each one with calm, creativity, and genuine care. Nothing felt like too much trouble. That kind of grace under pressure is rare, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
It’s easy to find a hotel with nice linens. It’s much harder to find one where the people leave a lasting impression. Alan and Renan are the reason I’ll be back — and the reason I’m telling everyone I know.
Highly, highly recommend.
I arrived at the hotel at 8pm to find they had cancelled my booking with ZERO communication and were fully booked.
At the desk, they made it seem like it was my fault and told me I'd need to find alternative accomodation (they did offer to help find somewhere but as you can imagine, 8pm on the day, everything was either booked or ~£500.)
I was sent to sit in reception and waited for over half an hour for the problem to be resolved, just to find out they had a room all along.... Kevin (who was polite and helpful) did offer me a coffee while I waited.
I then checked in to a very noisy room (which I imagine had been blocked out for repair as there was a dehumidifier in the room and it wasn't super fresh) - at £240pn I'd expect more comfort to be honest.
I went downstairs for dinner to be seated with a food menu and no drinks menu (the waiter looked pretty fed up) and got the SALTIEST meal I've ever had - honestly, inedible, and of course, not taken off the bill...
What annoyed me most, is nothing (other than a cup of coffee) was offered to improve the experience.
Whilst in the queue, 2 businessmen were offered free drinks in the restaurant for their 5 minute wait, and whilst I was eating, the table in front of me were offered free puddings and drinks... but despite having my room cancelled and then being put in a damp and noisy room, nothing was done to make the experience better.
I travel A LOT for work and have never ever left a bad review - but this is one I just couldn't let slip.
Great location
Such a disappointing stay. We booked a girls weekend away for 4 to celebrate a milestone. In one of the rooms the toilet started overflowing and the flush stopped working. The hotel staff could not show less care. A team member came over, tried flushing, said it’s broken and that was that. Reception rang to say they are fully booked so we can use the lobby bathroom. We are two women and did not feel comfortable going alone at night to use a public bathroom with other guests coming back from the clubs across the street or the bar. No one followed up at all in the morning, didn’t even care to check in. When we said it to reception at checkout again the person at desk said its unfortunate- we asked why couldn’t they send someone with a plunger to try and fix the issue to which he responded there is a maintenance issue so a plunger wouldn’t help - when we asked why they made a room with a maintenance issue available he backtracked saying this issue was only flagged by us? So I guess the plunger might have worked just the team didn’t care enough. It was such an uncomfortable encounter. We did not feel comfortable or safe using the public bathrooms at night, luckily our friends were also in the hotel so we could use their but it was also a trip to another floor at night so not comfortable. Brendan at reception said the reservation was made via booking so we have to get onto them and they will approve a partial refund but the loveliest booking assistant tried also and is being given a run around by the hotel. I stayed at the Iveagh before but safe to say will not be coming back after this experience. On a side note we had brunch booked at Ellen’s and this was also a very poor experience. Gorgeous food but table was filthy. They kept forgetting about us, we had 3 people serving us at one stage and it was chaos. The person who took down the name on the reservation just walked away and we waited further 10 minutes for another person to approach us and sit us.
We were a party of 3. Everyone at every level at this hotel were superb! From Renan on the desk to the restaurant staff(ghee they are an incredibly hardworking team!) to the cleaning crew were an excellent example of how to provide 5 star service. Well done and thank you from us all.
Staff went out of their way to provide a truly exceptional experience. I cannot speak more highly of this hotel - from the location, to the atmosphere, to the wonderful bar and restaurant, to the phenomenal service provided by the staff. We will return!
Great staff, amazing location. Brilliant all around, don’t have a bad thing to say about our say. My wife was sick, and they helped in every way possible.
Part of a tour of the Ireland we stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel has a great foyer worth just lounging in and watching the people and the trams going by outside. The bar and restaurant is big but feels quite intimate and private. The service is excellent: front desk, concierge, dining area, bar, and room servicing staff. Non obtrusive, but available and helpful when you need them and more than happy to talk about things to do in the area when asked. Kevin who was concierge when we rocked up took our bags upstairs (we did not ask, he just offered, which was brilliant), and ordered some tea to the room even though there was a kettle in there already. The rooms are large and comfortable and well maintained. Alan Fanning the head concierge was extremely helpful in giving us his guidance on the best things to do while visiting. Try the restaurant too even if you are not staying there. Breakfast is a big buffet. We had our evening meals there twice. We should have tried more of the menu but had the salmon and chicken Caesar salad followed by the crumble. Head chef Fergal Meehan came out to talk with us just to check how the meals were for us which was great. Apparently the crumble is a new item and a bit of an experiment so wanted to see if it was worth keeping on the menu. Answer: yes. If you go there yourself and see a tall chap with specs, then that will be Fergal. Say Steve said hello. An excellent stay.
So amazingly helpful, so kind to our friend when she was not feeling well.
