Pros:

Struttura moderna e arredata con gusto sopraffino, staff gentile e cortese. Ambiente riservato e location unica.

Cons:

Unica piccola pecca: un pò distante dal centro di watamu. Per muoversi è necessario contattare transfer. Anche per questo servizio, in ogni caso, ci si può rivolgere alla struttura.

La struttura è curata in ogni minimo dettaglio e decorata con un raffinato design ispirato al gusto locale.
La camera è ampia e luminosa, con una doccia spaziosissima ed un letto che vanta il miglior materasso su cui abbiamo mai dormito.
La colazione servita fronte mare offre un menù vario che va dalle uova al bacon ai prodotti di pasticceria, tutto rigorosamente fatto in casa.
La vera punta di diamante dell'Alawi è però il Servizio: lo staff, sotto la guida esperta della manager Gabriella e della proprietaria Nilde, è pronto a soddisfare ogni necessità degli ospiti con cura e professionalità. Abbiamo alloggiato in tanti resort dello stesso livello, eppure raramente ci siamo sentiti così accolti e coccolati.
Martin a colazione e tutto lo staff, dallo chef all' housekeeping, è formato per offrire un servizio di prima classe.
Non possiamo fare altro che consigliare senza riserve l'Alawi ad ogni viaggiatore che voglia sperimentare un soggiorno all' insegna di accoglienza, attenzione e servizio senza uguali.

Pros:

Ad Halawi Home Abbiamo trascorso 8 giorni nel totale comfort e relax. Tutto curato nei minimi dettagli dalla struttura al servizio; pensato per farti vivere una vacanza senza pensieri. Il cibo eccezionale, piatti sia della cucina italiana che tanto pesce fresco locale ogni giorno! Chi rende possibile tutto questo è Gabriella, sempre disponibile, di grande compagnia e attenta alle esigenze degli ospiti. Offre sempre ottimi consigli sui ristoranti e locali di Watamu dove cenare/ fare un aperitivo. Una location perfetta per chi vuole immergersi nella natura e stare lontano dalla confusione per rilassarsi. Mare spettacolare visto che è sulla cosiddetta “Sardegna2”.

Cons:

Struttura perfetta, unico punto di attenzione che è leggermente decentrata rispetto a Watamu quindi bisogna prendere taxi se si vuole uscire

Super Hotel, geniales Personal, aber leider mit überteuerten Essenspreisen
Pros:

Generell ist das Hotel wirklich ein Traum wenn man Ruhe sucht und Abschalten will. Die Architektur, das Design, die Lage, das sensationelle Personal - alles stimmig. Wir waren allerdings in der Nebensaison dort. Somit waren wir die einzigen Gäste und man hat sich wirklich vorbildlich um ums gekümmert. Vorallem Lillian, die Vertreterin der Managerin, war ein Traum. Sie hat alles geregelt und ist wirklich ein Herzensmensch. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Wenn es etwas am einen Tag nicht gab, war es am nächsten Tag da (z.B. spezielle Früchte zum Frühstück).
Wir hatten 2 Doppelzimmer gebucht: den "Master-Bed room" im Erdgeschoss (meiner Meinung nach das beste Zimmer) und ein Doppelzimmer im Obergeschoss. Alles sehr sauber und toll eingerichtet. Zimmer sind wie auf den Bildern!

Aktuell wird das Hotel aber erweitert um weitere Zimmer. Da geht dann vielleicht die "private" Atmosphäre etwas verloren!?
Das Personal von der Managerin Lilian, über die Bedienung, das Reinigungspersonal, dem Poolboy, Sequrity Masai am Strand .... alle anderen: Wirklich top!
Pool wird ständig gereinigt (mehrfach am Tag wenns sein muss) und auch die Anlage ist wirklich top gepflegt. Alles super sauber und toll. Wie auf den Fotos. Die Eigentümer sind Italiener, waren aber zu unserer Zeit nicht im Lande.

Cons:

Wie bereits geschrieben, waren wir in der Nebensaison hier. Dies hatte mehrere "negative" Einflüsse.

1) Überall Ungeziefer - viele Ameisen, auch im Zimmer und andere kleine Tierchen. Hier mussten wir erst nach Sprays fragen. Man hat sich dann darum gekümmert, aber erst nachdem wir es mit Nachdruck gesagt haben. Ameisen im Bett mag glaub keiner :-)

2) Die Lage weit draußen von Watamu hat Vorteile, aber auch Nachteile. UBER kommt hier nicht her (zumindest nicht in der Nebensaison). Taxis waren sehr sehr teuer. Alle Restaurants in der Umgebung waren geschlossen. Wir waren also "gezwungen" im Hotel zu essen. Die Küche ist OK - aber die Preise gehen gar nicht! Dies ist viel zu teuer und überzogen. Ich sage mal: Europäische Preise für lokale italienische Küche. Wir bezahlten zum Teil mehr für Nudeln als in Deutschland. Dies geht nicht! Man versucht hier, die gehobene italienische Küche zu imitieren, was es aber nicht ist.

3) Sauberkeit am Strand: Leider wurde der Strand während unseres Aufenthalts nicht gereinigt. Und es ist unglaublich wieviel Müll hier liegt. Ohne Witz: Man konnte zum Teil nicht mal zum Wasser gehen weil so viel Müll lag. Und ich spreche nicht von etwas Plastikmüll ... da liegt wirklich alles: Elektro-Kleingeräte, Flaschen, Glas, zerbrochene Glasflaschen, Schuhe (noch nie soviele Schuhe am Strand gesehen!), Spritzen, Folien, ... ich könnte noch vieles weiteres aufführen. Wirklich sehr schade. Und natürlich Unmengen von Seegras. Aber das wäre kein Problem, das gehört am Strand fast dazu.
Wir sind deshalb "gezwungen" gewesen, in der Anlage zu bleiben. Was aber auch schön war.

4) Strand-Boys: Dadurch, dass wir weit und breit gefühlt die einzigen weißen waren, konnten wir keinen Fuß an den Strand setzen ohne dass sofort 4-5 Beach-Boys da standen und uns voll gequatsch haben. Mit 3 Blonden Frauen im Anhang war das sehr sehr belästigend. Und man musste wirklich massiv werden, damit sie gehen.

Alawi home is a magical place. The staff is soooo sweet and helpful. The rooms and the whole house is impecable and clean. Nothing is too much. They made our holiday! Can only recommend to go and stay there

There is really nothing to not like at that place. It a sample of living in heaven !

I loved it, a beautiful beach side delight!
Pros:

The location was beautiful, with direct beach access, beautifully furnished. The host Gabriella & staff warmly welcomed us, made us feel instantly at home and were attentive. The food was good as well and I believe due to our timing, we had the entire place to ourselves.

Cons:

Towels weren't refreshed in the room, there were road works ongoing so access to Watamu town was difficult (though this is temporary and not under the control of Alawi), and I'd have loved a better ocean view from the room (maybe a larger window or glass doors)

We had an amazing time staying at Alawi Home. Excellent location with a beautiful view and beach, super friendly and professional staff and great food. It is the ideal place to stay if you really want to relax and recharge

Cons:

Wi-Fi could be better, especially outside of the room, but not a big issue.

Pros:

Thank you the Alawi family for the amazing and warm welcome, the staff is on another level of service delivery. From Roselyne, Martin, Mau and Defence of course and the wonderful chef Caleb. If you want a place home away from home then Alawi has got you.

Cons:

The food is seemingly Italian, like most hotels in the area for Italian food lovers, it's great experience otherwise incorporate other options

Unable to use pool as they've decided to clean midday and unusable for 6 hours.

Extremely small selection of drinks at the restaurant

Food ok.

Huge issue with room on arrival as our booked room was given to another guest.the room and early arrival were confirmed and communicated 2 days prior to arrival. Poor excuses were given as to why that guest needed our room. We were requested to take another room. The second option was far from beach and pool and no sea view. We made the booking 2.5 months in advance. We declined and insisted on the original booking. Staff were able to organize same, but experience unpleasant and other guests' visibility upset with us. Staff should have handled the situation better.

Stay was ok, don't think we'll return.
