Bed was comfortable. Towels ok.
No staff at front desk upon arrival. Had to knock on door behind desk. The staff then proceeded to assign two rooms which were near exit doors despite my request for a quiet room. The hotel was not fully booked. In the morning no one was at the lobby coffee bar at 7:30 am. Flagged down a staff person who went on a search for someone. When I returned to the hotel after my meeting, housekeeping had entered the room to strip the beds, throw towels on the floor even though I had not checked out.
This hotel is well situated in the heart of Palm Desert and close to El Paseo shopping and dining. It is also close to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. The hotel is quirky and modern, but well designed, with the lovely pool etc at the rear of the hotel.
The vintage Cadillac in the lobby is also fun to see.
The Larkspur Grill is very good, and it has entertainment some nights too.
The staff are all very good and professional, and especially Valerie on the front desk, who is a great asset to the hotel. Lucas and the team are also very welcoming.
We were kindly assigned the room that we requested, which we love, and appreciated that. We have stayed a few times, and look forward to our next stay. Thanks again to all staff.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Outdoor patio for morning coffee.
It was very noisy this visit with mounds of In and Out burger trash piled in our hallway the morning after the partying. Coachella event was hosted at hotel with blaring Red Bull truck assaulting our senses at lobby. The hotel should have advertised this on the web page.
We were very happy with our stay here at Hotel Paseo. It was quiet and clean and all the staff were very friendly. The hotel has a spa for treatments, and a great swimming pool with a few cabanas for rent and a bar for drinks and food poolside. The small cafe was perfect for a quick snack or small breakfast, and if you want more, there is a restaurant connected. The valet service was exceptional and the location is prime for anyone on a mission to do some shopping. The room was spacious and clean and great comfy bedding! We would definitely stay here again.
Everything exceeded our expectations!! Nothing that we did not like.
Our favorite hotel to stay in when we visit Palm Desert. Great location. Great to walk to all the shops and restaurants on El Paseo. Very good accommodations, love the pool, the staff is excellent! We enjoy the restaurant in the hotel with live music on many of the nights.
We just returned and I highly recommend Hotel Paseo! The location was wonderful, the hotel was clean, modern and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the hotel amenities. The outdoor area is beautiful, with fire pits, a large pool and hot tub, turf, ping pong, corn hole, plenty of seating, bar and pool service. We spent a lot of time outside in the evenings, playing games and using the hot tub. There is shuffleboard in the lobby and a spacious fitness center. Valet parking is included but we found ample street parking right outside the hotel. Location is great for restaurants, shopping and activities. We had a fridge and a balcony. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We loved this hotel!
This is a mid tier hotel with luxury hotel prices. The location is great for being close to el paseo. The trade off is that it’s not a resort-y property: pool and amenities are limited. Not a bad thing but something to consider if you are here for a pool, golf, tennis vibe. It’s a newer property so the rooms are comfortable. However, the service is a big miss. We let the property know in advance we were spending our wedding night with them. We weren’t expecting a big room upgrade.. but didn’t even get an acknowledgement or card. They gave us an accessible room and the TV didn’t work. No offer to switch rooms. I’m disappointed we spent our wedding night here and honestly don’t think I’d be back. At this price point, you can get a wonderful room and experience elsewhere in the desert.
Every year we travel to the Desert and enjoy staying at the Hotel Paseo b/c it's a mid size hotel with all the amenities. Plus you are across the street from the Palm Desert mall and a block from El Paseo drive which makes it convenient to walk. If you like being close to town this is the place.
This was a disappointment. Didn’t book an accessible room, got an accessible room. Told them we were getting married and was met with congratulatory email but nothing was done to celebrate. Seems like a big fail from a customer service perspective. Wasn’t expecting to roll out the red carpet but we are lifetime platinum and absolutely nothing was done. Big miss. The rooms are very basic for the price you pay. Location is nice and staff is very nice but we’ll stay elsewhere next time we come to the desert (which is two to three times a year).
Beautiful
This is a great hotel. Had a great 2 night stay here. Loved the pool, spa and the outdoor bar. Bartenders are excellent and fun to chat with. Outdoor space is beautiful with fire pits at night. The room was modern, roomy and comfortable. Everything is very clean. Room was quiet at night. Bathroom large and functional. I love the location. Close enough to walk to many good restaurants. Valet charged up our Tesla every night for free. Fantastic place and a great stay.
Amazing hotel with the absolute best staff and amenities! Make sure to checkout the Larkspur Grill restaurant! The restaurant and bar staff are out of this world! Beth and Matteo are unbelievable hosts. Thanks so much for the fun week. #livelikealocal
This hotel was fine but not for me. There are so many rooms and it is very sprawling. It was a very, very long walk from my room to the elevator and I kept getting lost because there were no signs directing to the elevator. I liked that my room had a balcony with a mountain view. Check-in was quick. Decor of the hotel was nice and modern. All in all, it was fine, but seeing how my feet were so tired from all the hiking during the day, I didn't like that I had to walk so far in the hotel. I wouldn't recommend it for people with mobility issues. There were lots of kids there. Location was right in the middle of things. The pool was busy and noisy. Kind of an overwhelming and chaotic atmosphere. Wouldn't stay there again.
Autograph Collection of Marriott is generally pretty good. This has good location near shopping district. I intentionally did not want a golf/tennis resort and this is just a hotel. Modernish. It's "quirk" is a collection of 50's cars (and an Airstream trailer ) on site. Restaurant was just 'ok'. As far as I could tell, there was no other breakfast option onsite except the Starbucks-like take out cafe with limited options. It also wasn't clear to me that the items were made fresh every day. It was ok as long as you didn't want room service or table service. Other than that, nice property. Room had small balcony overlooking the pool which was nice. And - for me important - the room actually had a bedside clock.
The main reason I stay at this property is its proximity to the Palm Desert business I visit while in the Palm Springs area several times a year. The front desk staff is friendly, beds comfortable, and decor/art in public areas pleasant. Nice gym off lobby. When open, the cafe lobby offers an assortment of good grab and go options.
As I approached the hotel lobby doors with my suitcase, I was greeted aggressively by valet staff with, "are you checking in and is that your vehicle?" Clearly he was focused on identifying the guest who had left a car parked in front of the lobby without providing keys. How about "welcome to the Hotel Paseo" before launching into an inquiry and maybe work on observation skills as the first set of eyes for the property- I walked down the hotel driveway entrance and was nowhere near the car on my approach :).
Patio table outside Room 114 slider was extremely dirty; could not enjoy a meal outside my room on a coolish desert evening. Those should be checked by hotel staff and rinsed especially after the rare desert rain that happened immediately prior to my stay.
Seals on in-room refrigerators are wearing; property may want to replace those as needed. Make sure to check that your frig door stays closed or you may have room temp items in the morning.
No ice available for guests staying in first floor rooms off lobby,. Have to cross considerably-sized lobby and take elevators to Floor 2 or 3 for ice. It's awkward. But mostly guests are not told this at check-in. I wandered the first floor looking for the ice room before inquiring at the front desk.
If you are a light sleeper, make sure to request that engineering turns off the bathroom fan or you will listen to it all night. Again, it would be great for the front desk staff to alert guests that request a quiet room.
Hotel charges a silly resort fee for few amenities. A tiny bottle of water and complimentary flavor-infused water in the lobby are about the extent of the resort amenities. This is on top of $300 or more per night in a neighborhood that is isolated from most of the area attractions and next to a dead outdoor mall/empty Paseo shopping district (20 minute drive down the 111 from Hotel Paseo to downtown Palm Springs).
Great property. Great area, walkable to shopping and restaurants
