Cambria Hotel Philadelphia Downtown - Center City

I didn't like that several elevators were out of order. Also not soap was in the soap dispenser in the shower.

2 of the 3 elevators were down during a very busy weekend, including a wedding. Many, including the some of the wedding party, were late because they couldn't get on the elevator. There was also only one person at check-in , when the line was all the way down the stairs.

Trash cans blocking fire doors! Yikes. On top of that there was no body wash or hand soap in our room. When we asked for some the front desk said, “do you need it tonight?” My brother in Christ, what a funny way to tell me you don’t wash your hands after using the bathroom. Additionally, only one elevator was working so it took foreverrr to get one.

There’s 3 elevators but currently only 1 is in service. With the building having around 16 floors and a rooftop restaurant you can imagine how difficult it becomes to catch the elevator in peak hours.

No complaints.

Layout of room, no staff present for assistance and to answer questions, elevator operation confusing, paint in hallways - messy, garbage on the floors . All these issues at an unfair price.

Where to start....

1. We arrived at 16:00 (check-in time), and we were told our room was not ready. We had to wait for 20 minutes in the lobby, without any complimentary drinks or even, just a "sorry for the inconvenience". We were supposed to be informed when our room was ready, it was not the case, we had to ask if it was ready.

2. The check-in was really bad, no "hello", barely a few words to request the deposit, not even indications about our room number or where to go. I never had that bad check-in.

3. Finally, probably the WORST part, the hotel has 3 elevators, but only one was working, the two others had no indications they were out of service (they are probably trying to hide it, I see from previous reviews it's the case for a few weeks). The hotel has 17-18 floors, we were on the 15th floor, so we could not climb the stairs. We had to wait each time for 5-10 minutes to get in as it was busy.

Nothing at all to dislike! My only recommendation would be to stock up on the English breakfast tea in the rooms when the British are staying!!!

The hotel has 3 public elevators and 1 for staff, 3 of the 4 were down the entire week I was there. When inquiring about repairs we were just repeatedly told, "its a process" and "sorry." It was difficult to get up to the room or down to the lobby and leave. Housekeeping wasn't able to keep up either since moving the carts between floors was difficult with everyone sharing 1 elevator. On day 6 they finally posted a notice.

Only one elevator (out of 3) was operational, so it took a long time to get in and out of the rooms. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty when I arrived. Although I told the front desk and a maid about this, it was still empty the next day—and the room had never been made up between the days. I also reported that there were no coffee cups next to the coffee machine in my room and that issue wasn’t addressed either, not by the front desk, not by the maid.
