Great for family stay with kids
Beds were too hard
The room view was amazing. The location was up a hill which gave the magnificent views. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with a lot of choices. The staff was excellent and very helpful.
It was up a hill and not in the city shopping area or JR line. However they offered a free shuttle which you need to reserve. Price point is a little on the high side - priced more like a boutique hotel with luxurious amenities and facilities. This is worth the price if you were travelling with small children as there are plenty of kids activities. It’s not a romantic getaway hotel or for people looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday.
The rooms are big but sparsely decorated. Bed mattresses are hard and uncomfortable. They provide very limited amenities in the bathroom. Finally, considering that is marketed as a family resort, there are very limited and simple number of activities.
On the positive side, staff are very professional and dedicated to improving customer experience. Additionally, breakfast is abundant and with great variety.
Overall, this place is not worth the price. It would be rated at best a three stars in international markets.
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We did stay during rainy season and experienced rain, fog, and a cloudy view; however, even that was spectacular! I can only imagine the view on a day with clear, bright weather. The creativity of the layout and design of the hotel is top notch. We were impressed by the vastness of the room and the expansive windows not only in our room but everywhere---the lobby, the workroom, the onsen, the cafe, the breakfast restaurant (especially the night views with the whole city lit up before your eyes!). Our room was incredible--beautiful colors, tasteful design, clever arrangement for sleeping, and it was massive. My husband and I were traveling with our moms and the room was perfect. There were two separate Western beds and an enclosed room (by sliding doors) with futons for us; it was great. The upstairs cafe is something I've never seen before at a hotel...an indoor beach! As a family traveling without children, I truly appreciated the "adults only" evening in the lounge cafe ---please continue to offer that! Lastly, I also REALLY enjoyed the strawberry roiboos tea in the workroom and at breakfast. Delicious.
Unfortunately, I was not able to use the lobby climbing wall as it seemed to either be busy or closed. Due to the rain, we did not get to walk through the forest park/low ropes courses either. Due to the low amount of reviews on Booking.com, I did not realize that this hotel is very specifically designed for families with small children. However, I think that the amenities and beauty of the hotel can be enjoyed by all--even those without children. In order to help make the hotel enjoyable for all, I would highly recommend a few designated "adults only" times for the pool and the onsen. I think that would immensely help with the enjoyment of childless families. However, that being said, the hotel was very unique! A bit too expensive (I recommend eating in the town before arrival), but still a memorable and enjoyable experience. Thank you to the kind staff who practiced their English with us!
facilities are good to kids, my kids love the pool, hotel provides handcrafting to kids. Tree house trail is nice. Room is big and cozy, adult can relax at hot spring. My family loves this hotel.
The room was very spacious and had an amazing water views. We had a lovely relaxing stay at this hotel. It had great amenities with an indoor pool, spa bath and library with beach theme. Wifi connection was excellent as well. It would've been even better if the kitchen had water views. The staff was generally friendly and provided great service, however, we would have appreciated it if we were advised of the schedule of shuttle bus from Atami Station to the hotel as we had to catch taxi on arrival as we had just missed catching shuttle bus. Otherwise we would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Atami.
