Very pleasant.
Pros:

Pleasant staff. Had an evening meal there with guests and that was excellent. Food and staff were all excellent.

Cons:

Expensive as we would have continental only normally. Porridge was not on the menu. Had to ask for it.

Great location, superb breakfast and friendly staff.
Pros:

The breakfast choice was superb, as was the standard of the food, and the breakfast room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were attentive and helpful.

Cons:

I had booked a superior double room, which was rather smaller than I was expecting, and there was only one, not very comfortable, chair in the room.

Thoughtful touches throughout the property - Superior Room was great
Pros:

LOCATION:
You can walk straight out into the forest, quick walk to village.

THOUGHTFUL TOUCHES
The extras were off the scale: dyson hairdryer, amazing radio and radiator, the spare glasses and welly boot supplies etc.
The quality board games in the room - all made for a wonderful stay.

SUPERIOR ROOM
Lovely size and super well appointed.

DINING ROOM
Very nice - dinner was nice enough. My husband rated the burger 10/10.

BREAKFAST
10/10
Probably the only hotel we've been too where they kept everything stocked up right through to the end of the buffet service. Lovely quality.

Cons:

We would have given it a 10/10 but for 1 issue:

RECEPTION STAFF
Need more training on customer service.
You were booked up and busy and so the staff was stressed and they were short with us. We realize this was also a cultural difference but the way you speak to people is important.
It's not our issue if you're booked up, you took our booking and we want to be valued and treated as welcome customers.

BAR HAS VERY LIMITED SEATING FOR A DRINK - it's all dedicated to dining area.
If you pay for a nice hotel you expect to be able to go the hotel bar. We'd seen it online, invited 2 friends to join us and there was nowhere to have a drink - literally just a few scattered tables for 2 - the rest was booked up for diners (despite the fact there is a huge dining room).
This is not well managed. The staff were busy serving as your serving station is at the bar - so you are in an awkward position even going up to the bar to get served.
We were told to sit in the breakfast room to have drinks. And you had to go to the bar yourself to get your drinks.
This was more premier inn than anything else and for that reason alone I wouldn't recommend you or come again.

Does not seem balanced with how amazing all the other details are at this hotel. I don't believe we're the first guests to complain about this bar drink situation - another one was saying the same whilst we were there.

Brill we`re definitely coming again
Pros:

We have used this hotel before and will do so again. Love the food and the staff are brilliant, would be nice if the menu was changed more frequently, but that`s a minor thing.

Cons:

the pillows were a bit hard and two chairs in the room would have been nice but that`s just nit picking really Overall this is a great hotel.

Pros:

Dog friendly and the staff genuinely liked dogs.
Great staff. Room opened onto the garden.
Food nice. Could have added a few more vegetables with mains, ideally. Breakfast very nice quality and good not to have the portion size too large. Some good quality bread would be nice.

Cons:

Nothing to complain about at all. Apart from paying £7.50 for a portion of average bread but that's not much to worry about.

Rustic new Forrest Stay
Pros:

Gorgeous hotel: rustic cosy room with lovely additional touches like cards & games to play on a rainy day.

Location perfect for quick access to brockenhurst & the forest walks opposite.

:staff were lovely & went extra mile especially when there were heavy rains resulting in flooding in brockenhurst & they got their handyman to get me to train station on time.

Cons:

That I couldn’t stay longer!

No complaints at all

Lovely stay, staff great. Recommmend
Pros:

Staff, atmosphere and food brilliant

Cons:

Room 102 lovely (old part with big bay windows) but too hot at night (radiators were off but must be big heating pipes under floor) so we needed windows open. Windows needed TLC & shower screen leaking a bit.
